The Foothills Inn

For the price, this place is actually a great road trip stop! We came through in the summer when everything in Rapid City was CRAZY inflated. This hotel was the cheapest we could find that still had a decent rating. We were not expecting a whole lot, but I have to say it was pretty decent all around! The room was dated, but it was clean and that is the most important. It had a big fridge, microwave, TV and super retro blue bathroom which is almost so vintage it’s cool again. We got a room on the ground floor that had a small patio area with 2 plastic chairs and faced the outdoor pool. This was a great people watching area in the early evening. Beside this hotel is another with a small bar/casino, a few restaurants and a gas station for snacks. (All within a 2 minute walk) If you are passing through and don’t want to pay hundreds for other hotels, this is a great spot to save money at without giving up all sense of cleanliness and comfort.

This business owner should really consider courses on business MANAGEMENT or retire as manger and hire someone competent enough to properly run this place. Being this hotel shares property with its sistering company The Grand, and it wants to carry accompanying stringent hotel policies its staff (primarily the kid working overnights) should be trained appropriately. Manners should be a given, but sadly it seems, not everyone has common decency or ccough.Gayle and Laura were exceptional however and the only reason I continued to set my money ablaze staying here.

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the foothills. it makes a difference when the hotel is independently run. very courtious staff! very comfortable room bed. location is great, close to stores and restaurants. would recommend it to anyone!

Very cozy, at a great price. Staff are extremely friendly & personable. Rooms are spacious, and they also have an upstairs lounge balcony area with tables, board games, and take-a-book/leave-a-book bookshelf. Unfortunately I couldn't use the outdoor pool since it's winter... Guess that means I'll have to go back in the summer.
