La Quinta Inn & Suites Rapid City

The staff were very nice and helpful. Everyone was very bright and put a smile on my face. Everything was clean and organized. The room was very comfortable. The food at the breakfast buffet was delicious. I loved staying here and would definitely stay here again. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good room for their families. Plus the hotel is pet friendly. I love this hotel.

This place used to be a solid 5 when it first opened. It has gotten too popular and now it's simply packed with people (The water park side - which is why people book here in the first place). They have four hotels attached to the water park. I don't believe they believe in fire codes at all because they jam pack the people in. Despite all of that, it's still a super fun place and affordable. Especially in the winter months. Breakfast was rough as I had to wait a good 15 minutes for eggs to come out. There was a long line and it was pretty messy. Let's hope they expand soon. They should at least limit the amount of people who an get in. Give priority to hotel guests and outsiders will have to have a limit of some sort. As I said, still a fun place. Good beers and good people all around. Hotel service is great too. I'm just bummed on the max occupancy of water park.

I stayed in room 102 on 5/23/2018. The back door to the property did not lock. The dead bolt to my room also did operate correctly (It did not lock). Notified front desk person who did come to the room and check door lock. Told me maintenance man was not on premise, but would try to call him out. I told him since the lock on the back door to the property did not work, and my room dead bolt did not lock the room was unsafe. Then he tells my "What are you worried about?" I told him about robberies, assaults and murders. Then he tells me " THOSE things don't happen in South Dakota" THERE WAS NO CONSTRUCTION GOING ON AT THE HOTEL! This was 10:30pm. Very complacent attitude!

This hotels is really great if you have kids. Price is pretty cheap and have the water park. The water park is extra but it’s pretty inexpensive during off season. The water park is crazy busy so not good for smaller children. I do have one complaint..... I was told that the water park passes would work the day of check in and the next day until 10:00 the next morning, well the water park didn’t open until 4:00 p.m the next day so we couldn’t go since our checkout time was at noon. If I would have know that I would have waited to get the passes the next day and maybe stay another night.

Completely love this hotel. Pet friendly. Always friendly and amazing staff. I asked for some toiletry items from the front desk last time I went and they did not have any available in the convenience store, so she personally went in her purse and helped me out. That is what you call amazing people. I do not like that the water park is not built into the room price. You are aloud to use the hot tub but too many children are splashing around to make it possible to relax.
