Disappointing Experience – Far Below Marriott StandardsnnI usually never complain, but I’ll make an exception for The Dorian, Autograph Collection by Marriott.nnI get that people would fairly rate this hotel very well—it’s beautifully decorated and stylish, and I’m sure my experience doesn’t reflect that of every guest. In my opinion, the issue I faced could have been resolved easily, but maybe I just had the wrong staff at the lobby this time. So, just be cautious.nnI arrived early and politely asked for the room I had reserved: a King bed with a city view. I was even willing to wait until the official check-in time, so there was no excuse for not honoring the request. However, the room I received had no city view—just a view of the side of another building. When I followed up with the front desk, they claimed that no King room with a city view would be better than what I had. I seriously doubt that was true.nnSecond, be cautious with the “breakfast included” option when booking. Breakfast for one person costs over $40, yet all you actually receive is a $25 credit on the menu. Since the restaurant is inside the hotel and serves only hotel guests, this feels misleading at best—if not an outright scam.nnOverall, this experience was well below the quality I expect from a Marriott hotel.nnBut to be fair, the room itself was nice—view aside.

We stayed here for two weeks and had such a terrific experience. Consistently great service across the board. This is a boutique hotel with an Oscar Wilde theme based on his books and the decor is wonderful. Absolutely creative, beautiful and luxury without being pretentious. Visit the breathtaking 27th floor restaurant and also Le Petite Chef is a unique experience! A stylish coffee and bakery right off the lobby. Valet service was especially accommodating. Thank you to the entire staff for a great stay !!

My husband stayed here for a night after arriving at the Calgary airport on our way to the Rockies. I really wished we had had more time! The room, service, views, and food were all spectacular. I loved the many whimsical ways that Oscar Wilde was incorporated in the design and concept. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go downtown and enjoyed meals at the Wilde and Provisions bar. I was also genuinely impressed by the selection at the mini bar in the room, and would have tried more of the offerings if we had had more time. Highly recommend for anyone stopping in Calgary for a city break!

Absolutely loved my birthday stay at this beautiful Autograph Collection hotel in Calgary! Thrilled to see it has received a Michelin star in 2024, well deserved. My Suite Night Award cleared smoothly, and I was upgraded to a gorgeous suite. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the valet parking service was seamless. As a loyalty member, I also enjoyed a complimentary breakfast, which was a lovely bonus. A perfect stay from start to finish

In Calgary staying at The Dorian Autograph and it has been fantastic! We were given a great overview of the hotel and what makes it unique. It was fun to play along!nWe had dinner at the rooftop restaurant and it was delicious! The hotel is walkable to Peace Bridge, Bow River and Steven Avenue walk. The room was fantastic! Very nice amenities, robes, umbrella , LavAzza coffee machine , cute bar cart. These fantastic armoire with light up racks! I recommend!! nCalgary has been great, we came for one night. We walked to Peace Bridge, picked up some E-bikes and rode along the Bow River in the park. The city is so very clean, very nice amenities, park benches, splash pad, bridges and lots of activity. We then walked to Stephen Avenue. There was lots of pedestrian activity and restaurants along the way. We had a great dinner back at the hotel.
