Emerald Hotel & Suites Calgary Airport

We arrived after midnight July 5 2024.nThe room was fairly clean but the beds were not made properly.nnAfter showering we pulled back the sheets on the bed closest to the window and noticed the blankets and sheets were damp.nnThought oh maybe the blankets didn't get dried properly.nnAs we pulled the blankets back farther all you could smell was urine.nnSomeone had peed in the bed and housekeeping just pulled the blankets back up.nnTold front desk, the one gentleman said why didn't you say anything earlier and I said we literally just checked in an hour ago.nnIt was now 130am and they said they would send housekeeping up in a half hour. As they had no more rooms.nWe had just drove from BC and had to be up early the next morning to deliver.nnSo we slept in the second bed because we were so tirednnAlso the included breakfast was a half sandwich an apple and a juice box.nnHighly recommend going somewhere else.nnAs no one should have to sleep on dirty sheets

Nice hotel for the price. New owners are working hard to make the property way nicer. Still has work to be done but if your looking for an inexpensive place to stay this is it. When I checked in the gentleman at the desk gave me a free upgrade to a king room which was very appreciated.

spent 6 days here Room service didn’t come to my room once for fresh towels or changed my sheets. called the front desk twice and they said they’d sent someone right away. no one came. went to the front desk spoke to the person there said they would send someone right away. no one came. considering we spent over 400$ a night i’d expect better service. also had 1/2 broken air conditioner in a heat wave. no amenities in the room either what kind of hotel doesn’t even have a blow dryer or a do not disturb sign.

i was scared when i read the latest reviews.. i had to book a last minute hotel and i didn't see any of the last review says.. my room was a renovated room, the cleaning could be better, the bed sheets are kind of old.. the front desk was very nice.. breakfast can be better but better than nothing.. no Garbage in the corridors.. only bedsheets as they were cleaning the room... the hotel is not perfect but for the price and if you just need a place to sleep and wash ONLY it is good enough ! and i am a picky person about cleanliness and everything. only 1 elevator was working. 1 or 2 homeless around the hotel.. plenty of parking..

The beautiful pictures found online are probably the best thing you will find about this hotel with its poor service.nnFirst of all, the hotel description indicated blackout blinds on the windows - mine was torn in places and let in so much light. The hallways were often dirty and reeked of a foul stench. The windows in the room were dusty, and their version of housekeeping is only to have your towels/toilet papers replaced - no cleaning done whatsoever.nnSecond, this hotel mentions that your bill includes breakfast, but instead of room service, or at least eating in the restaurant, you will be told to come down early in the morning before 10am to grab a food pack at the receptionist's desk that consisted of 1 slice of bread, a small apple, a small juice box, and a tiny muffin - to my utmost disappointment. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because I thought I wouldn't have to worry about breakfast, unfortunately, I ended up having to eat outside. To make matters worse they don't even give you any utensils for your beverages - couldn't get a measly spoon even after requesting directly.nnBy the second night of my trip, there was a police raid at the hotel, those on the third floor were not allowed to go up to their rooms.nnAnd lastly, if you were looking for a quiet place to relax, the thin walls and connecting doors between the rooms means you'd hear the loud voices in the next room - good luck sleeping through that. And when you try to reach the front desk/reception, they don't always answer the phone.nnThe only positive thing about this hotel is its proximity to a shopping mall and restaurants.
