I am very disappointed and unhappy with my stay at this super 8! I do not recommend anyone booking here! My family and I have been having the worst experience here.nnHere’s a quick detailed story of my experience!nThis was a family vacation, we had arrived in Calgary and went straight to this super 8, the staff at first were very welcoming, we got into our room and everything in the room seemed clean, now we decided to leave and go out for dinner ect.. when we came back to the hotel staff weren’t as nice, we had been in the room for about 30 minutes until one of my family members had got up and screamed. There was bugs in the bed! Now we immediately took pictures and even caught one in a water bottle. We quickly packed up all our stuff this being 9:30pm and went down to the front desk to complain! No way am I staying somewhere with bed bugs! The manager of this hotel was not friendly and quit rude! At least I have my photo proof! Me and my family drove all the way back to Manitoba that night, we had no where else to stay… now that we are back home and sanitized all our personal items so we didn’t bring the bugs home, we have been trying to get our money back and the manager of this hotel has been rude to us through emails and has even charged my cards $550 extra because in the email he sent it claims that he lost money that night because the people behind us in line over heard us talking about bed bugs in the hotel I don’t think this was right for the manager to charge me an extra $550 because other people don’t want to stay there. So please if you don’t want to deal with all this mess I don’t recommend stay at this horrible super 8! If this isn’t a bed bug then they have some sort of bug problems there because there was so many all over the place at only at night
Convenient location to the Stampede grounds and downtown. This location was recently renovated and is very clean. We didn't use the pools but they appeared clean. We did have a problem with the TV, I mentioned it to the front desk clerk and by the time we got back from dinner, it was fixed.nOnly a 1 night stay, would definitely stay again.
Stayed here during the Stampede on a Monday. It was pretty busy. We were to pay for an early check in but it wasn’t ready when we got there at that time. Waited a half hour and it was good to go. All good. Still happy they were able to help us out. Room was a basic queen room. View of the building next door. Oh well, it was Clean and cozy. Enjoyed the free breakfast the next morning. Parking was a bit of a pain. We noticed someone scratched our car in the morning. We had to squeeze between two big trucks and folded in our mirrors on our small car. Not great, pretty tight. Overall a good stay tho.
The management is very poor. They have not returned my damage deposit. I have to actually file in small claims court as they are in breach of contract. I am more then disappointed with their shaddy behavior. Complaint through Windham appears no results.nMy family and I checked in at 3:30 pm at 9:30 my daughter jumped out of beds, there was a tiny, seed shaped, brown bug crawling toward her. We promptly checked out that night. I will not stay where there are bugs.nWhile checking out, and obviously upset with our findings, the customer checking in behind us looked at the bug we captured, and also did not stay.nThe hotel manager has not only held my damage deposit, he added the bug service to my bill, the 4 night stay for the other guest, and the two nights we were to stay. Now obviously it's illegal, and I will file, however I want people to be informed about the issue. Stay at your own risk. BTW search Bug in reviews, more then one posting. Wishing had.
I'm giving them 4 stars based on comparison to other Super 8 hotels we have stayed in. This hotel is exactly what one should expect from a Super 8 anywhere in Canada. Clean, tidy, somewhat renovated. Front desk ladies, Natalia and the other representative, I didn't remember her name, were both outstanding. The standard breakfast included all the staples like waffles, hash browns, bagels and so much more. Great coffee which looked like sourced from a local roaster. Overall, we had a great stay. The room had a kitchenette with plates and utensils. Great for an extended stay and our room was pet friendly too. Lots of shopping to do around. A Korean grocery, a European store, Mexican restaurants, etc... there is an off leash park 5 min walk away.nThe only complaint we had was the sound isolation on this building. It's poor and if you get noisy neighbors, you will hear their conversations. But otherwise, all good and we will be staying there next time we are in Calgary.
