All I can say is WOW!!! I showed up here at 2AM after a canceled connecting flight on the morning of 11/22, was met with great service and a smile. I didn’t expect much for the price I paid for the room, but was pleasantly surprised by the modern, extremely clean, and well sized king room. All of the staff I encountered were excellent, location is great, and the lobby is gorgeous! I will definitely be staying here every time I am in Calgary.
We had a wonderful 4-night stay at the ALT Hotel. Our room, featuring a king bed, was well-appointed with modern amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we loved the automatic shades and spacious shower. The Nespresso machine and high-quality personal care products were nice extra touches that enhanced our experience. The location was perfect—there’s a great breakfast spot right across the street, and we enjoyed morning strolls along the beautiful river boardwalk. We’ll definitely be back for another stay!
We really enjoyed our one-night stay here earlier this year. The room itself has lots of fun, tech features that automate a lot of the functions within the space. Everything was very clean and the decor and furnishings were very fresh and new. We had a partial view of the river, though as the building is only so tall, it will be obstructed no matter what floor you're on. The check-in process was efficient and the staff were very polite and welcoming. We opted for street parking, as most of the side streets allowed for free parking overnight. If you're staying at the hotel, try out the Sidewalk Citizen and Phil & Sebastian in the nearby Simmons building, for a delicious breakfast and coffee! The proximity to the river is also really nice if you're looking for scenic walks during your stay.
My daughter and I absolutely loved the Alt Hotel Calgary. Really quiet and quaint area of downtown Calgary. From the time we showed up to the time we checked out we loved it. Front desk staff were amazing, lobby was pretty cool and parking, while not included or part of the hotel, was so easy. The rooms and technology in them is next level. Really fun to change it up and stay in a hotel that is advanced and has a high end feel while still being comfortable. Only downsides were the restaurants in the hotel - one closed at 3 and the other was sushi which we aren’t fans of. But that’s our problem haha. There are options around just outside the hotel so definitely not the end of the world. I absolutely LOVE the check in and check out times. They’re actually practical and made the trip more relaxed and more guest friendly!! Overall, I feel this hotel truly takes its guest into consideration and put themselves in our shoes and what would make for a great hotel stay!! Highly recommend and will be a returning customer!!
This is the 4th Alt Hotel location I've stayed at in Canada. The brand is consistent across the locations and you know what to expect. It's not fancy but it's a lot better than a 3 star hotel, imo.nnThe manager Jay was fantastic. My original room had a heater issue and he made sure I was taken care of and got out in a new room, which came with a nice upgrade to a corner room.nnI'm happy I stayed here and would stay here again when I'm in Calgary next....which I hope will be very soon.
