I had a great stay at Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary. The room was spacious with a full kitchen and a comfortable living area, which made it feel more like home than a regular hotel. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and I appreciated having enough space to relax after a long day.nThe location was convenient, close to downtown, and I enjoyed the view from my room—seeing the train tracks and tall buildings gave it a real Calgary vibe. The staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out were smooth with no hassle.nOverall, it was a comfortable and peaceful stay. I would definitely choose this hotel again, especially for longer trips where having a kitchen and extra space really makes a difference. Highly recommended.
We loved our stay at the hotel! The room was quite spacious, and we really appreciated the amenities included. The city view was great, and the location was perfect. Close to Calgary tourist attractions and walkable to Stephen Avenue and the Wonderland sculpture.nnWe enjoyed the free breakfast during our stay, and the staff were very nice. Even though parking is a separate payment, we still appreciated the underground parking. The only thing that could be a bit annoying was the sound of the train passing by.nnOverall, it’s a great hotel and we’d definitely stay here again on our next visit!
Very disappointing experience. The cleanliness of the room was questionable from the moment we walked in. It did not feel properly maintained, which immediately set the tone for our stay.nnThe worst part, however, was the parking situation. The hotel does not provide its own parking. I specifically asked the front desk where to park and was instructed to scan their QR code at reception. The staff guided me through the process and told me to select and pay for the weekend option. I followed their directions exactly.nTake your time and read reviews about their parking and Valet parking issues!nnUnfortunately, it turns out that only one night was actually paid. On the morning of checkout, we received a parking ticket. When I contacted management, I was told to deal directly with the parking company. No accountability, no real assistance.nnGuests should not have to second-guess instructions given by hotel staff, especially when it results in fines. Extremely frustrating and unprofessional.nSafe yourself time and frustration and stay anywhere else.nnWill never choose Marriott again. Unsubscribed and will gladly stay anywhere else next time.
I had a really enjoyable stay at Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary, and it’s clear why this place consistently receives strong reviews.nThe rooms are of a high standard—clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with everything you need for a comfortable short or extended stay. The layout feels spacious and functional, making it easy to settle in and relax.nOne of the standout features is the breakfast. The buffet is genuinely impressive, offering a wide variety of fresh, healthy, and delicious options that cater to almost every taste and dietary preference. Everything was well presented and consistently replenished, which made each morning a great start to the day.nThe staff also deserve a mention. Every interaction I had—whether at reception, housekeeping, or general enquiries—was friendly, professional, and welcoming. It creates a really positive atmosphere throughout the hotel.nThe facilities are also very practical. There’s a reasonable gym for keeping up with your routine, and the on-site laundry was incredibly handy. At just $3 per wash and $3 per dryer load, it’s affordable and convenient—I used it frequently during my stay and found it to be excellent.nThe location is slightly removed from the very centre of the city, which I actually appreciated. It feels quieter and more relaxed, and the surrounding area, including the car park, felt more comfortable compared to some of the busier downtown spots.nOverall, I would definitely stay here again and would happily recommend it to others looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-run hotel in Calgary.nMy only criticism would be the water pressure in the bathroom. Both the sink and shower were noticeably low, which made it a bit difficult to properly wash and feel refreshed each day. Hopefully this is something that can be improved, as it would make a big difference to an otherwise excellent stay.
I recently booked this hotel through Booking.com and specifically requested a higher floor, as that’s one of the main reasons I chose this property. I’ve stayed here before and appreciated being higher up, away from city noise — which made a noticeable difference in comfort.nnWhen I called to confirm my reservation and double-check the floor request, I was told the highest they could offer me was the 14th floor — even though the building has 32 floors. I explained that my previous positive experience on a higher floor was the reason I booked again. At that point, I was told I could pay extra for a room upgrade. However, there was no clear mention on the website that floor level required an upgrade fee.nnWhat felt disappointing was the impression that because I booked through a third-party platform and had already paid, there was little flexibility offered. It seemed like if I were booking directly or as a new customer, there might have been more willingness to provide better options or accommodate the request. That doesn’t feel fair — especially for returning guests or loyalty members.nnAdditionally, I booked just one day before arrival and noticed the rate was already $100 higher than when I checked the same room about a week earlier, which added to the frustration.nnI will update this review further after completing my stay, but so far the pre-arrival experience has not matched the level of service I expected from this property.n————————nnAdditionally, I want to share my experience regarding parking.nnThe underground parking is not directly managed by the hotel. When I arrived, I asked the front desk manager where to park. He instructed me to scan a QR code at the desk, which redirected me to Indigo Parking. There were several options available including hourly, and the manager specifically told me to click “Next” and select the weekend rate of $5. I followed his instructions and completed the payment, fully expecting that my parking was covered for the entire weekend.nnWe checked in on Saturday around 3:00 PM and checked out Monday morning.nnHowever, at 9:30 AM on Monday, we received an $80 parking ticket.nnWhen I contacted the hotel’s senior manager, I was told to call Indigo Parking directly. In other words, the hotel took no responsibility, even though I had followed their exact instructions at check-in.nnIf you decide to stay here, make sure you handle your parking arrangements very carefully and double-check everything yourself. Based on my experience, I would not rely on their directions — including valet recommendations.nnUnfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider staying in Calgary in the future.
