My first time buying shengjian Bao take out from this place. Took me 45 min to reach home but the buns are still crispy and fresh. Quality is super with adequate amount of soup with tasty meat. Price is a little on the high side 50% more expensive than Shanghai Dim Sum but I’m happy with the quality. A Little hint: the buns would be very hot when it’s freshly made because of the soup inside, take small bite at a time to avoid heat explosion in the mouth
Really tasty shengjian bao! And all made fresh! My first time inside first markham place in over a year and happened upon this place when looking for lunch. The shengjian baos has a nice crisp bottom and a doughy, but not overly chewy dumpling wrap. You bite in and you get that nice soupiness sitting inside. Not overly juicy but you still get that good amount of juicy savoury squirt. Love that you can see them workin and wrapping the dumplings and baos so you know it’s made fresh daily! The logo is really eyecatching and makes you want to buy something! Service is great too! Very quick and order given within proposed time. As well, they had a nice amount of customers but exactly knew my order as I went to pick it up. Will definitely be back to get more shengjian baos from here! Great job overall! Handmade dumplings and buns looks and taste delicious! We order the wonton special $5.99 + tax $6.77. Taste great for takeout! It's beside the Fido booth.
One of the better Shanghainese soup dumpling places and its located in a food court! Head over to the First Markham Place mall, plenty of parking. They make it fresh, takes approx 10mins. Be careful on your first bite as the liquid gushes out piping hot. Dumplings are big, hot, juicy and flavorful
Good place for buns and dumplings. Friendly staff. Good prices and good food. You do need to wait about 15 minutes for your food to be ready because it’s made fresh. The dough on the soup filled dumplings are thicker than I like but otherwise it’s good. Love, both buns we ordered. So yummy. Would recommend giving them a try.
This is my personal preferred Shanghai style Sheng Jian Bao, Steam soup Bao and Wonton soup. The ladies are serving professionally. They also provide the raw baos that you can bring back him to steam or cook. All baos and wontons are freshly made so the qualities are consistently high for all these years.
Friendly staff and quick service. We tried their traditional, pork with cabbage and pork with spicy sauerkraut. They didnt have the other flavours disappointing at 1pm on Sunday. Traditional was a bit too overwhelming in taste and greasy. We liked the other two more with nice amount of veggies, good ratio to meat whereas the traditional was just a big lump of filling without much texture. $11 for 6 pieces and no tax.
Surprisingly, this little joint is exceptionally good. The restaurant is located in the food court but only takes cash. I was a bit annoyed as people don't carry much cash these days. However, the xiaolongbao is very tasty and authentic. The shengjian is probably the best I've had so far in the GTA area. Lastly but not least, the cashier was very kind and accommodating. Too bad I don't live nearby; otherwise, I will probably visit it every other day.
This place was freaking awesome. The staff were wrapping buns and dumplings at the counter and everything was cooked to order. It took 15 min for our order to be ready. The original pan-fried buns didn't feel greasy and was overflowing with an unexpected amount of soup >2 Chinese soup spoons worth. The soup dumplings were equally amazing, wrapped in perfectly chewy dough. Definitely be prepared if you plan on eating your take-out in the car!
Hot, fresh and juicy soup buns and dumplings. Careful not to burn yourself while eating them! Wait times are a little bit over 20 mins when it gets busy but well worth the wait.
