Schoodic Woods Campground, Acadia NP

very nice campground. our campsite had enough room for two large tents. all campsites come with a bench and a fire pit. there are (well-maintained) bathrooms with wifi, and some campsites are close enough to get a signal. the sites are surrounded by trees, but some of the trees are short, young, and don't provide much privacy/shade. some of the sites are next to/across from each other, which is good if you need multiple sites close together, and bad if you want privacy. there is a bus service (island explorer) that goes all around Winter Harbor. there are grocery stores nearby, and multiple places that provide firewood.

Possibly the most beautiful place in all of Acadia! Definitely worth the 45 minute ferry ride from Mt Desert Island. The waves are intense and it is far less busy than traditional Acadia attractions.

Pristine, brand new facility. Positives: Registration, communal area and bathrooms are extremely nice for camping facilities. Rangers are great. Negatives: -small RV sites with room only for the RV. -very formulaic, geometric sites without any character. -no showers

Beautiful facilities and very quiet. Here in July and camp booked out but still very calm . Bus service great, so if you want to get away from the crowds this is the place. Nice galleries in Winter harbor

Quieter than Backwoods campground. Nicer restrooms that have wifi- if that is important to you. A younger camp ground, however, so sunnier and not as much privacy as the trees are not as developed.
