In early September, my wife and I discovered a really nice campground in the Blue Hill & Deer Isle Area – Oceanfront Camping at Reach Knolls. We were both impressed. The Owners were very nice, and I don’t think you can beat their hospitality. The camp ground is just a few years old, is very well kept, and has a nice layout. The camp sites are well spaced, with several separated by treed/wooded areas, so you can have a lot of privacy. At night, sitting by the camp fire it was very quiet, like we were alone in nature. There is a short trail to a secluded beach, which is a great place to explore. The views are beautiful, especially in the early morning and evening. The Blue Hill, Deer Isle, and Stonington Area is a great place to visit and unwind (less busy than Bar Harbor). If you want to get away to a beautiful area, we would recommend you consider this area and campground. David & Patty

Pretty, peaceful, clean and quiet. Its small, above the water, but nice water views in several sites. A trail leads to the water. Lori, the host is very friendly and helpful. The baths are in the main building and very clean. Depends on what you are looking for, but if you like peace and quiet, this is the place. $30 a night. WiFi, water, showers, wood and dump station at front office.

A great place to base yourself to explore Maine's coast. A quiet respite from the crowds at Acadia. Lori is wonderful and runs a great operation. Highly recommend.

Wonderful owners of this camping area are extra-friendly, they keep the place up nice, they enjoy doing it and continue to improve it/add features. Stayed 4 nights last month, will stay here again when we can make it back to the area!
