Rideau Hall opened its doors to visitors over the Labour Day weekend, and it made for such a lovely girls’ outing. We walked around imagining the parties we would throw inside the residence and in the beautiful gardens.nThe grounds are exceptionally well maintained, and the flowers… so many gorgeous flowers!nThe pianists entertaining visitors were wonderful. The beautiful sound of their music added an extra touch of elegance and truly elevated the whole experience.
Visiting Rideau Hall was one of the highlights of our trip to Ottawa. The gardens were beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained. Everything was clean and well organized.nnWhen we arrived, the staff had a table outside the building and kindly offered us a free guided tour. We are so glad we accepted it. The tour took us through parts of the building filled with beautiful portraits, antique furniture, and historic artifacts. Our tour guide did an excellent job explaining the history of Canada, its culture, and how different people, events, and traditions came together to shape the country we know today.nnThe tour was very informative, interesting, and enjoyable from beginning to end. We learned much more than we expected, and it gave us a deeper appreciation of Canada's history and heritage.nnI highly recommend visiting Rideau Hall, especially if you have the chance to join the free guided tour. It was truly an amazing experience.
Rideau Hall is a beautiful and spacious place to visit. The grounds are perfect for a peaceful walk, and everything is well maintained. The staff were welcoming and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable.nnOne of my favorite parts was proudly seeing the trees planted by two former Presidents of the Philippines, which made the visit especially meaningful to me. It's a wonderful place to explore, relax, and appreciate both nature and history. I highly recommend visiting if you're in Ottawa.
Very happy we tood the time to come here. The gardens are lovely and the free tour check ahead for bookings was well worth the time.nnIt's not easily accessible by bus, and a bit of a walk to most other things you may want to see though.
Visit date: July 19 2026nnMy 2 year old son and I decided to come on such a lovely Sunday summer day.nnWe decided to do the free tour.nnWe had Alice as our tour guide.nnShe I hope I got the pronouns correct was very knowledgeable about the history, the artifacts and other aspects to the grounds of Rideau Hall.nnWe only stayed for about 45 minutes. There was still more of the tour to compete, but we had to pick up my son’s mum from work.nnI would come back to finish the tour another day. I hope we get Alice to complete the remainder of the tour.nnThanks Alice!nnFive stars
