This is an impressive museum and we were certainly glad we went during our recent visit to Ottawa. The new Canadian History Hall is an impressive review of at least a part of Canada's history. It was very obvious that this is an exhibit designed by central Canadians, for central Canadians. References to events outside of Ontario and Quebec are few and usually only presented in terms of their significance to the centre. This was very disappointing from a national institution.

The new exhibit Canada Hall is outstanding. I don't think we could make it through in one day only, there is so much quality info to read and items to look at. The Grand Hall with First Nations info and items is also stunning. Recline in the chairs to see the ceiling several floors up, gorgeous!

It was such a great place to go especially if you have kids. The children's museum was a blast even for us adults. The people that work there were all nice and accommodating. Can't wait to come back and see the museum again.

Use to be one of my favorite museum, but not any more. The most interesting exposition of the history of Canada was completely changed. My last visit was just one big disappointment. The old exposition had its original face, remembered with a lot of real exhibits. The new one is absolutely faceless. Hundreds of boards with pictures and text from below. I don't know what museum management was thinking about taking this decision.

Very nice building with beautiful sites around and a first floor that often has events or markets going on. Unfortunately I feel the museum itself is lacking. The special exhibits are always amazing, but the permanent exhibits are a bit lacking and I feel like that causes most people to only return for the special exhibits, creating a long line and crowded exhibit. Moreover, the special exhibits, though interesting, don't have much focus on Canada, so it would be nice to see more permanent exhibits that are focused on Canada.
