The National Gallery of Canada is one of the most impressive places to experience art in Ottawa. Located in a stunning building with unique glass architecture, it creates a sense of space and light, which is inspiring in itself.nnUpon entering, you immediately feel a special atmosphere: silence, respect for art, and a well-thought-out layout. The gallery offers a diverse collection, ranging from classical paintings to modern art. I was amazed at how harmoniously works from different eras and styles coexist.
I was more than happy to see all the expositions. Canadian art in this gallery worth of our attention, I was surprised of the amount of really good works. The building is a total work of art too. Don’t miss the cafeteria, great and affordable lunch with exquisite views!
The National Gallery of Canada or as our French-speaking friends call it, Musée des beaux-arts du Canada is such a treasure! Built way back in 1880, this national art museum showcases some of the most incredible collections of Indigenous, historical, and contemporary art you can find.nnI was really impressed with how everything is organized, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Plus, I loved wandering through the galleries that are laid out in a chronological journey through Canada's history—it makes the visit even more special!nnIf you’re an art lover, this place is a must-see! Admission is just $20, and trust me, it's totally worth it.
Beautiful building, wonderful art. The place is filled with paintings and art that keep you enjoying your whole time there. We were here for 3 hours and loved it.
Love the architecture and the surrounding environment outside. The indigenous exhibit was my favorite. Really cool to see actual paintings from the “group of seven”.
