A big, open, clean museum that is perfect for avid readers and airplane enthusiasts. They have a great collection of restored aircraft, and the plaques are well-done, if a tad too enthusiastic about Canada's aviation accomplishments (a few too many "considered among the best in the world" lines on those plaques, folks). For others, however, I see only modest value. Take this with a grain of salt, but a modern museum really needs more interactive space. Consider that they have all these massive helicopters, but all you can do is look at the outside rather than opening the doors and displaying the interior from a viewing platform. Or when describing a radical change in propeller technology, only having a static display rather than a more interactive demonstration of the science behind it. Flight is an amazing thing that has captivated our imaginations for centuries. Surely that can be showcased more imaginatively than merely showing these hulking (and impressive) pieces of technology in a static setting? Informed guides doing demonstrations would be an immense help, as would a variety of immersive activities, like trying to start a WWI prop engine, sitting in a replica "cockpit" of the first flying machines (or a design-your-own section for the kids?), and so on. These are all things I've seen elsewhere, and would add a lot to the fun, rather than mere homage to technology.

If you love aircrafts of all types and mechanical interested then this is it. Aircraft from different eras on display. Handicapped accessible, parking and accessories were readily available for those needed to come to view all the displays. It is for all ages to spend quality time with the family and have fun while learning the evolution of aviation.

A great place to spend hours with your friends or family. It has a good amount of airplanes built or used throughout the Canadian history and not only, from the first ever to fly in Canada to some of the latest warplane jets. There's spacecraft models and plenty of interactive demos to lose sense of time. Flight tours just outside if you feel like flying. Highly recommend it!

I had a great visit at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. You can discover experimental machines from the early twentieth century, war vehicles from different countries, reconstructed planes that had been crashed, parts of space vehicles and even sketches of possible future planes. The visit took me about two hours and never got boring. There are many optional activities on site such as visiting the hangar. The entrance fee was reasonable. It would be great if there were even more information about zeppelins.
