I could spend days raving about the amazing staff at Ottawa South Midwives. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is pregnant. My experience was phenomenal, and my home birth went exactly as I envisioned. Ola thoroughly explained all her recommendations and outlined the risks, ensuring I understood them before making any decisions. She respected my choices and never pressured me, making me feel fully supported and guided throughout the process.nnOla, if you are reading this, I want to thank you again for everything you do. Birthing a child is a sacred moment, and you made our experience truly magical. Looking back brings tears of joy. I hope you continue to touch the lives of other women and their families as profoundly as you did ours. We are forever grateful.

I have been meaning to write a review following the care I received for my second daughter who was born in May.nnMelissa Lepp was my main midwife but I also worked with Libby Ormond Melissa’s team, Gaelle Nyamushara Ishimwe was at the delivery along with Melissa and was my daughter’s midwife at birth, and Valerie Albrecht seen in clinic only.nnAfter the birth of my first daughter unmedicated birth in hospital, under the care of an OB during Covid, I knew I wanted to try a different approach. I loved the client first philosophy under midwifery care and bonded with Melissa right from the first phone call. I always felt so safe under her care for both myself and my sweet girl. She went above and beyond to make sure that we were both well cared for throughout and always spent the time that I needed to answer questions and provide all the information I needed to make an informed decision.nnAlthough I did require OB involvement towards the end of the pregnancy, Melissa was able to continue to provide care and was the one who ended up delivering my baby at the Ottawa Hospital civic campus along with Gaelle. During the delivery I felt so safe and empowered along side my wonderful team including my doula and husband.nnMelissa and her team were able to follow myself and my newborn 6 weeks postpartum and were so thorough to make sure we were off to a great start with our new family dynamic.nnI will forever remember Melissa and her colleagues and I am so thankful for this experience. The clinic was always so warm and inviting- the admin staff were sweethearts and bonus for future clients: the parking lot was just redone at my discharge appointment. I never had difficulty finding parking in the lot but there is also ample street parking if you want to get more walking in! The Thai truck is also wonderful and I treated myself after a couple of the appointments- I recommend it!nnI would recommend Ottawa South Midwife’s many times over! Thank you for taking me on as a client; I will remember your care with positivity always when I look back on my second pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I could truly go on for days about the amazing care we received from Ottawa South Midwives team and our midwife Melissa.nnWe looked all over Ottawa for a midwife, and happily around 20 weeks were contacted by Ottawa South midwives that they had availability with Melissa! We were thrilled.nnThe prenatal care, resources, kindness and all the mom to be questions I had were all met with compassion, professionalism and honesty. We felt so comfortable going into labour and parenthood after working with Melissa.nnMy labour was a bit of a whirlwind for our first baby and Melissa was available at all hours to answer our questions and visit our home before heading to the hospital. The delivery was fast and her coaching was extremely helpful during a stressful and fast labour/delivery.nnPostpartum, I cannot emphasize enough how THANKFUL we were for the Ottawa South Midwives team. They visited our home the weeks after birth, answered all our new parents questions and checked in on me mentally and physically just as much as they cared for our baby girl.nnWe were truly sad to end our care with OSM - 6 weeks PP, but will absolutely be returning when our second comes along in the future.nnThank you Ottawa South Midwives, our new family highly recommends!!

My time with Gaelle and the team at Ottawa South Midwives was amazing. After choosing an ob-gyn for my first pregnancy, I opted for the midwife route for my second, and it exceeded my expectations. Gaelle provided exceptional support during the pregnancy, labour, and postpartum care. She made sure I was always comfortable and advocated for me throughout the entire process. Having Gaelle by my side made me feel safe and assured which contributed to a positive birthing experience. I don’t even have the words to express how thankful I am, I appreciate you Gaelle!nn100% recommend Ottawa South Midwives. The entire team, from the receptionist to other fantastic midwives like Liliane, always came through with top-notch care. If we decide to have a third child, we'll definitely be coming back here!

First off, midwives are INCREDIBLE. Prior to being pregnant I didnt know much about midwives at all so with my first born, I had an OBGYN. They were nice and professional but during my birth weren’t present, I also ended up with an emergency caesarean with the OB on-call. For my second pregnancy I was determined to have a VBAC and hoped to go unmedicated and was sure having a midwife would give me the best odds. I was lucky enough to be accepted as a client with Midwife Melissa at OSM! The difference in care and support with Melissa was unmatched. She followed me the entire pregnancy as well as postpartum and the days where she was unable which were very few, I was able to meet with other midwives such as Libby, Val and Gaelle and they made me feel just as comfy as Melissa did. My husband and I honestly and truly believe I wouldn’t have had the birthing plan I had hoped for successful unmedicated vbac if it wasn’t for the care that Melissa provided. Melissa is super patient, has a calming demeanour and embodies everything of what I imagined a midwife would be like. We also were fortunate to have Liliane and midwife student Katie at the bedside to assist during birth as well and they were so great! Today was my last follow up with Melissa and I was so sad because we had built such a great relationship. If I end up having more babies, I will be contacting OSM right away to be a client of Melissa’s once again! I can’t say enough good things about my experience. For anyone wondering if they should go with a midwife, don’t even hesitate, apply for care now! Also many thanks to the admins Franca and Tanya, they were always so friendly and welcoming! Thanks so much OSM team, I already miss coming in for check ups.
