Good value for the cost. Not super fancy, plane Jane actually. But clean and comfy bed. My room had been renovated and was nice. Other guest room noise was very minimal. They could use better signage for lobby and check in… I got it confused with car rental counter. Young man at desk was nice and loaned me a charger when I was desperate. Nothing within walking distance.
We originally did not plan on staying at this hotel but we ended up having to because of how expensive the other hotels were. This hotel definitely is not good. We arrived at 10:00pm and there was no one there for us to check in. We couldn’t even get into the hotel. We had to call the hotel phone number to request somebody to come and let us in. They were quick to come let us in. The room was small with only double sized beds. The shower had mold growing on it. No bed bugs which I was concerned about. Would I stay here again? Absolutely not! But we only needed the room for 6 hours as we needed to be at the airport at 3:00am. We did not use their parking service due to the poor reviews.
Overall my stay was very good, just a walk from the main terminal at Pearson. The staff were very kind and helpful. A few things to point out: The hotel is a multi business hotel with car rentals and hotel. The building is older and it would seem that the hotel was built in an old business office space; the hallways and rooms remind me of a dormitory. The hotel really motel could be updated with fresh paint and cleaned much better than it is. The lamps were full of dust, the baseboards were filthy and really need a painting. The tables legs need tightening as it wobbled almost to the point of falling over. The office chair wheels don’t move so you have to drag the chair across the floor. May I mention dust, dust and more dust. Overall though, I must say I had the best sleep I have had in months :. Would I stay here again? Probably not.
The overall feeling was one of comfort. Good service, friendly staff and the car well looked after. But getting to them is a big headache. First when I reached the advertised address at N U Hotel there was nothing! Complete silence. A typed notice asked you to call a certain number.I dialed 10 times and I had the option to either book a shuttle, reserve a parking spot and general inquiry. I kept dialing for the shuttle and the phone would go dead. This was at 5 am in the morning and I was losing patience and time. The tenth time I went to general inquiry and VOILA! I got a human and things then went smooth. Was given a new address thank god i had gone there with spare time went there and was served. Their web site is not functioning so they cannot match your details with the booking you have done. You have to show them the print out to get things done. Will I use its again? Sure. Now that I have ironed out the problems I will. But they should get their act together.
Rooms are visibility dirty. Doors. Trim. Hair over the bathtub. AC had 1 mode “loud”. Called for pick up service 7x hung up on several times. Was told to go to a certain area. No pick up. Lucked into seeing the van at another stop. No pick up in the morning after calling the numbers I was provided. Had to get a taxi service. Front desk experience was Neutral. There could be potential for this hotel. Needs a good clean and service the equipment on site. Bed linen was clean and towels. Was surprised with coffee and mini fridge along with microwave. That was a added bonus. Just don’t expect much and be prepared to arrange alternate travel. Check out Pearson Pub just down the street. Lovely spot and staff
Shuttle: The shuttle was okay. I had to call to inform that I was waiting and they told me I had to wait at #17. It was surprised phone number provided was answered by rental car company. Maybe just 15 mins wait until shuttle bus arrive but there was a old man who was furiously mad because he was waiting for longer than an hour. Stuff : guys who I dealt with are all nice and friendly. But one guy who drove behind the establishment which I think is parking lot was careless driver, went through really narrow place and scraped side of shuttle… he didn’t seem to care about it at all… I was very shocked to see that. Gave me the impression that he had no respect to his job and company he works for.. I wouldn’t leave my car with them. I don’t know how they treat my car. Hotel: wow. I was surprised to see converted front desk with rental car. Did look nothing like Hotel establishments. Rooms were upper floor of the office. There was no one at the front desk all night and in the morning. I feels very unsafe because of that. Water of toilet kept running all night and there was no one I could inform about this issue. I had to let it run all night which was noisy. No elevator all night and in the morning so I had to take my two heavy luggage from stairs. Rooms: size was okay. Spacious and roomy. Dark and depressing lighting. Bed was very clean, crisp and comfortable. There are three different kind of pillows so I found my favour type out of them. Cleanliness: very filthy. Probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Especially in the washroom but washroom is the most place customer would like to see clean?! Pink mold, black mold, rust are everywhere. Bathtub had some paint-like yellowish stain which looked like pee at first sight. I found some hairs on the floor when I first use. It felt disgusting. The door was extremely filthy looked like the garage door. If you look through really well, you would notice the walls are very dirty with lots of stains too. They need really good deep clean at least once a month. Price was reasonable compare to other hotels near by. It is very close to airport. However I don’t think I will ever stay at this hotel again.
This hotel looks and feels like it was created by the same people that do shoddy fix and flip houses. Unfinished floors, the TV box was just balanced precariously on top of the TV, Mould on the shower walls and shower head, rooms are pieced together in weird configurations in order to cram as many rooms as possible, super sketchy elevator, floors so sticky you could not take off your shoes. I suppose you sacrifice quality for location but really this was something totally unexpected. Looks nice in the photos but when you see it in person…. Feel like I need another shower after using the shower in the room.
We were hoping to be pleasantly surprised by the hotel, as the 1 star reviews seemed slightly extreme and we are generally quite open minded. We arrived at around 11pm and the door was locked, but fortunately a receptionist answered after we pounded on it. We were asked to pay a $100 security deposit, which was not mentioned to us upon booking. However while these small issues are things we are willing to brush past, the rest of our experience is a different story. The room itself seemed okay at first glance, the bed was clean and a place to stay within walking distance of the airport. However upon closer inspection there was peeling wallpaper with mould growth underneath - which should be immediately flagged as a health hazard and taken care of. There were also stains up the walls and somehow on the crowning, some in the shapes of finger prints, and most worryingly were reddish-brown which leaves little to the imagination in terms of the possibilities of what these stains may be. The bathtub also began to fill with a black substance once filled, perhaps mould or dust; either way is not the cleanliness expected. The most "interesting" discovery was the towel stuffed into the location of a former smoke detector in the bathroom; clearly a huge bypass in respect to safety and presumably illegal. Perhaps the most fun we had while staying was trying to leave; we were informed the door would be locked overnight again, quite an oversight in health and safety so we should make our way down the stairwell to exit as the elevator would be off, and were given a code to enter the main door once down the stairs. The maze of abandoned offices and construction work was an eerie addition to our journey to check-out, but finding that this maze in fact had no exit was by far the greatest discovery. We did eventually find another stairwell which led to an area behind the locked main door, where there was no place to input the code we were given. We finally escaped, and walked to the hotel as our shuttle did not show up nor was there anyone manning the front desk to help us. A small side note is that the hotel is not serving breakfast and is providing tokens for the Subway next door. It was also noticeable throughout our adventure through the hotel that there were no security cameras, and they had been removed from the ceilings in most areas, including dark stairwells. To conclude, there were many obvious safety violations throughout, ranging from mould growth, covered or absent smoke detectors, and construction equipment left unattended. The one star is for the bed itself, as we did manage to sleep in it and it gave us a place to stay for a short layover. I would recommend other travellers pay a little more to stay at another hotel, or stay in Toronto City and get the UP express service to the airport. It's clear that the hotel has gone downhill and been left grossly unmaintained judging by the great reviews it has from a few years ago. It certainly provides a place to stay and a memorable experience.
DO NOT STAY HERE VERY BAD PLACE! Not safe! 1 no personel at front desk. When you call the number it’s a car rental and they say that the hotel staff is only there from 9:30am So it’s not their issue wait till then to speak with someone 2 pictures are not real 3 rooms not clean from previous clients 4 bathroom reaked of urine , Mold everywhere, mildew 5 foot marks on bed sheet 6 no lock on door / no security latch on the door 7 if I could give -100 I would 8 they are avoiding communicating with me to issue my refund 9 AC was practically sitting on the bed And the list goes on. Shuttle not on time to or from the airport Worst than a motel.
Decent place to stay the night. Shuttle was on time and loaded us up. Desk staff were great. Room was clean, could use a fresh up on ac units and maybe extra cleaning around the windows. Not sure what hotel the other terrible reviews were for but shouldnt be for this one. Those that were forced to stay here were probably upset and got that attitude back. Give and you shall recieve as the saying goes!
