A pleasant environment. A second location. Lee's House restaurant has been in Gorden Head for about 2 1/2 years. Offers traditional Chinese food. The portion sizes after quite large and the food was fresh and served hot. Food did not feel saturated and over fried in oil. Prices are fair. Staff friendly. The restaurant was very clean and decorated nicely.
Some of the best dim sum I've had in Victoria. The servers were super friendly and everything came out hot and tasty! The most memorable dish was a sweet bar with custardy egg yolk filling. I think they use charcoal to colour the dough black. Tear it open slowly for the best reveal.
Second time at this place after trying it once at the start of covid. Unfortunately, nothing has changed as the food was not very tasty and the restaurant cut corners on what and how much it offered. The Sezechan Chicken with vegetables used very little chicken and a lot of the cheap pale chinese cabbage as its "vegetables". If you've never had this "suey choi" cabbage, its a completely bland cardboard taste and the cheapest in the veggie world to throw a few leaves into a dish. The house special noodles were passible except again...no flavour. Too add this meal, where the chicken was $20 and the noodles were $18, we had to sit in a restaurant that every inch of the floor was greasy and sticky. The restaurant also had a smell to it that wasnt pleasant. Service was just o.k. The older lady that didnt want to give us more than one single napkin each was epitome of cheapness. It was like the food fairs at the malls where they wont give you more napkins to make as much profit as possible. Really? I dont like to be too critical about restaurants as I know its a hard business with the last few years being especially difficult for them. Still though, with the cost of dining out these days and the constant demand for more "tips" for even the basic of service; restaurants owe it to their customers to raise their level of standard in every possible to way or their value proposition in leaving your home to sit at their businesses is diminshed greatly. I understand why they have a 3.6 rating.
Ordered DD. Our usual fave was offline I’ve been looking for good Chinese food in the city and decided to try Lee’s. How disappointing. The beef chow fun was mostly bean sprouts and hardly any noodles. It lacked any good flavour. The almond chicken was really chewy, probably because it was over cooked. They wouldn’t have over cooked it if it didn’t have an inch of batter on it. The pork dumplings were good, and the beef ginger and onion was tasty. The beef was a generous helping. Spring rolls were also crispy. But our meal was hardly worth the $80 we spent more for DD delivery.
Foods are decent. Nothing really special, but the portion are big for the price.
Prompt service and good portions. Had leftovers for lunch the next day. Will eat here again.Food: 5/5
Order the Wonton Soupit cost $11.95, the vegetables were not washed, there were worms inside, even the soup had worms floating on it, it was so disgusting
Excellent food, i had ordered in from their a la carte menu and everything was delicious. We went for their dim sum yesterday and thatbtoo was delicious. Not a place with carts making the rounds of tables, you order off the menu, but some different things including bau sandwiches with chicken or pork belly, a salty sweet duck egg yolk bau and the best eggplant dim sum o have ever tasted.
The soup I had, I can't remember the name but it had brisket and noodles, was delicious and was served quickly. The waitress was polite, attentive, and helpful.Food: 5/5
Tastes suspiciously rotten, and not fresh at all. Murky flavours that seem to have been picked up from a long stint inside of a fridge. I feel sick. Also way overpriced.
