Sampan Express

The food here is great. My favorite is soy sauce chicken leg, wonton and rice noodles, tofu and mushrooms, garlic green beans, and curry beef flank. They also have the best shrimp and egg on rice I have ever had, which is my go-to for comfort food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sampan Express, and I can say that this restaurant exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I walked through the door, I was impressed with the ambiance and friendly atmosphere of the restaurant. The menu offered a wide range of Asian cuisine, including vegetarian dishes I particularly enjoyed the Assorted Mushroom with Tofu and Vegetarian Chow Mein with crispy noodle, which were both bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. The service was exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Overall, I highly recommend Sampan Express to anyone looking for an exceptional Asian dining experience. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes from their menu. Thank you to the entire staff for an unforgettable dining experience!

I’ve been a loyal fan of Sampan ever since they were a full service dine-in restaurant in the Saanich Plaza. They made the decision to close down the larger restaurant and changed their format to focus on delivery and take away and they’ve done a great job of it. I’ve ordered delivery from their place many many times over the years and have always been impressed with the quality and freshness of whatever I order. Their prices are not the cheapest but I don’t mind paying a bit more when the food is always on point. I only have one pic from the meal I ordered last night but I will endeavor to remember to post more next time I order. Last night’s feast consisted of their Pork Chow Mein, Breaded Almond Chicken always so tasty and crispy!, Salt and Pepper chili pepper Chicken and their Szechuan Fish. One of the only restaurants that understands that fried food in a take out container becomes soggy fast so they always poke vent holes in the containers to allow the steam to escape. Never have I had soggy fried food from Sampan. There is also the hot food bar in-store which offers a great selection of food options for take-away at a very good price. You can get a 2 or 3 item meal with your choice of fried rice or chow mein or both as I usually get and it’s more than enough food for the hungriest person.

Wonderful bubble tea, and food is always good. Place is always very clean and service is always friendly and kind. One of my favourites.

Your staff couldn't hear what I was saying through the glass, I had to repeat myself 3 times so I raised my voice so that they could. You then became rude, obnoxious and my reply to you was appropriate based on your behavior. Veiled excuses for racism are pointless. And your other reviews also point to a clear tendency towards rude service and other racially based complaints!

Trying to place an order at the buffet line. Server couldn't seem to hear me so I raised my voice owner approached with scowly face and a racist tone. Clearly appears racist towards black and brown people and is extremely rude! I did not order and will never go this racist place again

the ladies that work there are so nice and friendly, and the portions are HUGE for the price. it’s just SOO good, and it fills me and my friend up every time. even when we order the “small” portion we always have to take it to go. if i could rate it higher i would
