JIYU Thai Hot Pot

The dining experience was truly delightful as the food had an incredibly authentic taste. The flavors of each dish transported me to the heart of the cuisine's origin. Moreover the restaurant's beautiful decorations added to the overall ambiance creating a visually pleasing and enticing atmosphere. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the unexpected gesture of being served complimentary appetizer-size dishes. It was a generous and welcomed surprise that added an extra touch of hospitality to the meal. However I must admit that I had higher expectations for the hotpot broth. While it was good I was craving a more intense combination of spiciness and sourness. Nonetheless it was still a satisfying dish. The dessert lacked any exciting flavors and was disappointingly tasteless. The staff members were friendly and accommodating although they did seem slightly forgetful at times. Despite this minor setback their attentiveness and warm interactions made up for any small mishaps. In the end my overall experience at the restaurant was a happy one. The authentic flavors beautiful decorations and kind staff left me with a positive impression. I would gladly return for another enjoyable meal and recommend it to others seeking a genuine culinary adventure.

Really nice hot pot! We loved the coconut flavor soup base. That was so fragrant. The seafood was incredibly fresh. The delicate utensils added a touch of elegance to the meal. The waiters were exceptionally friendly, providing top-notch service and helpful recommendations. The bright and clean environment further enhanced the overall ambiance, making for a pleasant meal. Plus, dessertsnot those on the menu were free, and the drinks you ordered were refillable! I'll definitely be coming back for more seafood delights!

I thought the food was great and that high quality ingredients were used. Staff were friendly and extremely fast serve on all occasions. They would constantly check. Up and deliver items with little to no wait.Food: 5/5

I was sold when they advertised "all-you-can-eat" desserts. Unfortunately, the desserts were below average. They might looked tasty, but they were not. The seafood platter was okay. Liked the fact that you can order unlimited beef slices. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice. 10% off if paid by cash. Probably won't visit again, unless they amp up the desserts.

The atmosphere here is beautiful, it honestly felt like I was on a vacation when I entered the restaurant. I got the seafood combo and the waiters were so sweet to give us complimentary fries and onion rings. The platter could feed almost 4 people even though it says that it’s for 2 which is nice. The sauce bar was my favourite and everyone was very helpful and kind. Only complaint is the dessert. It wasn’t the best and most of them didn’t have much flavour.

Seafood hotpot with some options for cooked Thai dishes as well. Overall, the food was okay. It was filling, but it was quite expensive and the seafood wasn't anything special. The sauce bar was limited compared to other hotpot restaurants in Markham/Richmond Hill. The service was mediocre. We were told our table was being cleaned upon arrival, so we had to wait 10 minutes. After getting to our table, we found it uncleaned the table was still dirty and some of the seats as well. The waiter got our order wrong, so they had to get management to correct it after the food was brought out. Unlikely to return.

New Chinese owned Thai hotpot restaurant. Not all you can eat style. Beautiful interior design. Fantastic service. Very polite service. Desserts are all you can eat and self served. Thai soup bases were ok. The Tom Yum wasn't spicy and shrimp flavourful enough for me. The coconut was bland and could be more flavourful and creamy. The seafood and meats were fresh. Shrimp skewers were also skinned for us. The cooked dishes were great. Curry crab was great and at a good price right now. The desserts were mainly disappointing. The soft serve ice cream wasn't creamy enough. But overall it's still good, just needs a bit of improvement. 10% off cash payment.

Tis that time of the year for hot pot and in Markham, that could be all year long. We had a large group with several kids and were lucky enough to get their private room at the back. It worked out for us with the noise. The room was comfortable for 10 and came with a small private bathroom, which is fine with the door closed. The seafood was pretty fresh and combos had some good variety. Tom yum soup was my fav. I was looking forward to the coconut but found that it could have been richer in flavor, personal preference. I liked the desserts at the ayce. It offered different items from other ayce. Ice cream was not creamy like the other reviews mentioned. The chicken feet appy was spicy. Our server warned us and he wasn't kidding but spicy in a good way. Seafood rice is spicy too, not for kids.

Came here for my fathers birthday dinner. We were able to book a room for 10 people at 5 p.m. our servicer was on the ball and always checking up on us. And was very helpful with menu items. We had two spilt pots of -Coconut broth base/Tom yum brothhighly suggest -Tomato broth/Tom yum broth For the actually à la cart items were the better choice compared to the combo set menu as we knew half the items on the combo set we wouldn’t enjoy. All the items were good like the -Shrimp, Crab stick, shrimp paste, mussels, squid, baby cuttle fish, lamb, beef, signature crab dish, Thai vermicelli shrimp, Thai basil chicken meatballs, sweet sour papaya salad, sichuan clams, but couldn’t say the same for the precooked food items such as the Pineapple fried rice, roasted abalones. Overall all the fish were good as is, but couldn’t say it was really a Thai style hotpot when everything tasted similar to just a normal Chinese hotpot. The decor of the restaurant is very well made and design where it doesn’t feel dirty specially when handling all the hotpot items. I would check it but wouldn’t return.
