We came to Lucky Seafood House as a party of 4 on a Sunday evening for dinner. The restaurant is spacious, and the service was excellent. We ordered a set menu with peking duck, steamed fish, and fried lobster. The ingredients were fresh, and the quality of the food was great. We got our food in a timely manner, and they changed our plates multiple times throughout the evening. We definitely plan on returning.
Our recent seafood dinner at Lucky Seafood House was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for a treat. The crabs and 5 lb lobsters were not only fresh but also incredibly flavorful, leaving our taste buds in seafood paradise. But it wasn't just the seafood that impressed us. The chicken dish we ordered was a standout, offering tenderness and the natural sweetness of the chicken meat. It's been a while since I've had chicken that tasted this good. And then there was their special cooked whole day chicken soup, a true gem. It exuded flavors reminiscent of home-cooked comfort, making it an absolute must-try.
First time at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. They offer many set dinners to choose from and all are reasonably priced. The seating is nicely spaced out so it doesn’t feel too crowded. Lazy Susans on the larger tables make it easier when dining with a big group. Lots of parking is available and the restaurant is conveniently located close to the highway. I thought their soup was the standout dish of the night. Hot and packed full of flavour! Great place for dinner with family or friends!
This place is not wheelchair/stroller friendly. There are stairs outside the restaurant, after entering the restaurant, and then just before heading to the main dining area. As for the food, the presentation was good but the taste was average. There are definitely better seafood restaurants. The only really positive experience is the staff, which was super friendly.
The price is really cheap for morning tea, it’s $4.98 for all S/M/L dim sum before 11am. I also tried a few of their lunch specials provide after 11am Here are my comments: The Fried Clams $12.80 is really cheap but not much in it. Deep Fried Squid with Spicy Salt $12.80sounds inexpensive but size is a bit small. Deep Fried Wonton in Sweet & Sour sauce $13.80 but it’s not the proper Wonton skin. Crispy Shrimp Ball XL is almost half size smaller than other Dim Sum place that has the same kind of shrimp ball. Only the congee is really in big portion and good amount of ingredients. So overall, it is like an okay restaurant, some dishes looks like a good deal but their portion is actually smaller. But services is good, very attentive and helpful. Atmosphere is 4 because the dinning area is in downstairs, it is not very convenient for elders to claim stairs. Washroom is at ground floor too
Food was pretty good in general. Not the squid though. Service was average it’s easy for staff to manage since it’s not a big space. Atmosphere and decoration is ok as a new restaurant. Breakfast promotion is $4.95 for small, medium and large dim sums.Food: 4/5
Just another one of your regular dim sum restaurants. It's honestly pretty normal. Nothing we ate was bad but nothing was exceptional either except maybe the coconut mango jello thing for dessert. I don't think I will be raring to go here, but it's another good option if you just want a change from the same old dim sum places you always go to. I do recommend the lobster e-fu noodles because it was only $30 and they give you two lobsters in it. Although I will say that the decor was kinda weird and it was a bit maze-like to get to our table in the innermost dining room, and because the restaurant is half-underground, I didn't have good phone service. Also because of that, the main restaurant space has no windows, which made it feel a bit claustrophobic and dark
They took over the previous Steak House at the loaction and kept most of the interior decors. Things look really out of place for a dim sum/Seafood restaurant. Tables are tight and being in a basement, it's loud with all the conversations going on at once. The dim sum menu contains a fair variety, but quality is just so-so. The saving grace is the discounted prices before 11:00 am even on weekends. Otherwise, head North on Woodbine Ave.
Dim sum was pretty good. From the exterior, you would expect the restaurant to be very big, but there was only 15 or so tables inside. Due to this, if you don't stand outside when they open, you will have to wait a long time. Also, very good choice of ambient HK Golden melodies from the 70s, 80s and 90s . Edit July 16 2023: Food still very good. Still very nice choice in music. Edit August 4 2023: Dinner here was not bad. Quick service. Dinner with music playing in the background is a whole other experience... Edit Oct 22 2023: If you are unfortunate enough to be seated in the one of three karaoke rooms, tough look finding servers to help take your order/ask for missalaneous things. Food are still good though.
New location of Double Lucky that used to be across from Markville. Same management and staff. The interior is nicely-decorated and spacious but the layout’s kind of awkward. Came here for lunch and the portions and quality of their dim sum is alright for the price, some items were better or more worth it than others. They also do have early bird pricing if you go in before 11 am except on holidays. Lots of reviews about rude service, but the service was fine for us, similar to any other Chinese restaurant. All in all a good choice for dim sum in the area.
