Recently made a visit to Diana's Seafood and had an amazing experience. The service was fast and the staff were incredibly attentive, making sure that all of my needs were met. The food was simply delicious and exceeded all of my expectations. I especially enjoyed the oysters, which were incredibly fresh and had a delightful taste respective of where they came from. One of the highlights of my meal was the buck-an-shuck, which added an extra special touch to my dining experience. I was impressed by the quality of the food and the level of care that was taken in preparing each dish. Overall, my experience at the restaurant was wonderful and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic meal in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The combination of fast, attentive service and delicious food makes for an unforgettable dining experience that I won't soon forget. Good service and nice server. They don't have fancy menu, but seafood is all about the freshness. I really don't like shrimp cocktail normally, but this is the first time I actually thought it was good. Grilled octopus was perfectly done. Sweet and juicy oyster. Pasta was delicious and fish tasted really fresh. The only thing wasn't too great was the lobster, maybe it was frozen? I do understand people commenting on presentation. It's not fancy yes. I won't come here for romantic dinner. It's more like Fisherman's fresh seafood type of restaurant. My family loved it.
First time dining in. I usual pick up oysters from their Scarborough locations to shuck at home. The service was decent. We were tended to immediately as we arrived and seated. Water and drinks were brought relatively quickly. Nothing special about service. The food was good. Seafood is definitely really fresh and that is what you are paying for. I ordered the oysters for the month of October. Server was honest and said the French kiss oysters tasted better than them. They know their seafood as she was 100 percent correct. The lobster and shrimp tagliatelle was amazing but the portion was tiny. Decent amount of shrimps but very little amount of lobster. For the experience, I would recommend visiting. I probably would not return as the portions were too small for me.
Was there tonight to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday, just the 2 of us. Food was good and service was sub par. Upon paying and tipping below standard our waitress confronted us on the below average tip, which I can understand and feel it is the responsibility of the restaurant to train their employees on exceptional customer service and servicing to attain a quality tip. I did explain my reasoning for the lower tip to the waitress. My tip was reflective of the service - 1 waitress for the entire restaurant during prime dinner time about 9 tables of which 3 tables were large groups of 6 or more. I ordered a $70 bottle of wine in which we had to fill our own glass throughout the night. Upon being seated, the waitress approached us and asked us what we wanted to order, no introductions, or effort to make introductions, intro/info on market specials and what it included. I’ve eaten at many $$$ restaurants and received more attentive service at a $$ restaurant. We also had to ask for containers to get rid of of the seafood shells, after having to play a balancing act of piling it on the side of our main plate. I was quite disappointed by the waitress confronting the tip that was left, based on sub par service the restaurant should expect with 1 waitress, left a sour taste in my mouth and it was obvious the waitress was not pleased with her tip. My tip was a reflection of the service and not to make up for the lack of training, staff or pay the restaurant may fail to provide. For a total bill of $255 before tax, I would expect attentive customer service at the minimum to provide a proper tip. As much as the food being good, I will not be returning to this location based on my experience.
We came here because I really wanted some oysters. The restaurant is spacious and clean. Staff were super friendly and helpful in recommending dishes and drinks since it was our first visit. I would come back again to try many other dishes the restaurant has to offer.
We had an amazing dinner last night for my mom's birthday. We originally had a reservation for 7pm but last minute had to call to change to 7:30pm. They were very accommodating to the last minute change and we were seated right away when we arrived. We have been to this location a few times before and due to the amazing service and food, my mom wanted to have her birthday dinner here. Highly recommend the Appetizer Platter, we get it every time! Although it says for two, it's the perfect platter to share amongst the 4 of us as we always get oysters to start too. They have a $1 Oyster Special Buck-A-Shuck, but everyone needs to get a drink in order to get that deal - which was fine as we were going to get drinks anyways. We got 3 mains to share - Diana’s Seafood Pilaf, Lobster & Shrimp Tagliatelle and the Pink Peppercorn Crusted Ahi Tuna Steak with a Caesar salad. Everything was fresh and delicious! Overall, service and food was really good, as usual. I would definitely recommend making a reservation as it was full last night - with people waiting, on a Tuesday night.
Buck a shuck!!! Got our monies worth on that deal but also had to order some of our faves that weren't a buck but still enjoyed them just the same. Lobster was perfectly cooked, tender and sweet. Pasta was good filled with flavour. Surf and turf was ok but why order a steak at a seafood restaurant if you are looking for a really good steak? We also ordered the sampler platter for two which was a good variety however they ran out of octopus which is actually my fave and subbed with calamari. I found the portion size of the sampler platter wasn't much for what it cost.
Diana’s has a variety of fresh oysters, with some that are available for $1 on certain times/days Lucky 88s and Malpeques, if they have any. Their food is good but on the pricey side ex. pan seared scallops is $20 for 2 scallops Not sure if their menu items are worth it but definitely come for the oysters!
Service was good, it did take a little long to get all the food but that's usually a good sign that it's being made to order. I got a lobster prawn pasta with a saffron cream sauce. It was amazing. The prawn was overcooked in my opinion and the portion was smaller than expected considering the price but overall i would order again and recommend to people.
Oysters taste delicious with with an exceptional high quality, buck a shuck is indeed an attractive deal and they really gave great oysters not those tiny ones. Grilled octopus was normal but the salad tasted great. Surf and turf was yummy as well, the steak could be cooked a bit more rare but still good, scallops were very fresh. Definitely would come back again.
