I was very worried after reading the reviews what we had in store for us. This location has been amazing!nnThe woman who greeted us was amazing. Check in was seamless. Loby is beautiful and access to the city is unmatched. Valet was easy to use, available and was only 29 dollars.nnThe room could use some updates, but the bed was amazing, and everything was very clean!nnWe will be back! Thank you!
This place drips with old world charisma.nnOn weekends you can park on the street for free. Weekdays park in the ramp across the street. It's $9 max per day, much cheaper than the $25 from the hotel.nnThe rooms have k cup machines since there is no free coffee. There is a Starbucks in the lobby but I need java before I can navigate a credit card and recall what a large is called in Starbuckian.nnLocation is excellent.nnThe double beds are way too soft or worn out. I'll try a king next time.nnThe furniture in the rooms is older but really appropriate for the hotel style.nnWindows do open for fresh air but just a few inches.
We chose this hotel because we were in town for my sisters graduation at Buffalo State University. This hotel was located in downtown Buffalo and the commute to the university would be a quick trip, which is what we needed. Upon arriving to the hotel, the hotel looks like a regular hotel with a really nice lobby. We checked in and the front desk was nice and even gave us a complementary appetizer. That was very kind of them. When we went upstairs to check out room, everything was going great until my mom said that she was smelling poop. Because my sinuses were irritating along with my allergies I couldn’t really smell. We were both trying to find the smell but we couldn’t find it and because we were so tired after our eight hour ride from New York City we just went to sleep because we had to leave early for the graduation in the morning. However before we slept I definitely sprayed the whole entire beds and room with Lysol that I brought with me. I was already paranoid due to viral videos I’ve seen of people showing how hotel rooms are sometimes not clean as people think it is. After doing that, we just went to bed.nnThe next morning we woke up and the smell was prominent again. This time I can smell it as well. My mom and I spent an hour trying to figure out where it’s coming from because we didn’t understand, especially because the smell was in one particular area. After a while, we found exactly where the poop is coming from. It was a streak of poop stains that was on the sheets on the side that gets tucked under the bed. And the reason we couldn’t find it earlier is because my mom slept on top of the comforter. When we find out we was utterly disgusted. I was really upset because my mom slept on a bed that had poop on it. That is very very very very unsanitary. How can the housekeeping missed that ? Were the sheets even wash? My mom and I cringed on how much germs were probably on the bed. We couldn’t even eat. I wanted to leave the room immediately, because that was just a disgusting sight to see. I stayed in so many hotels, even ones that are subpar But never ever did we see something like this!!nnWe checked out after the discovery. But before heading downstairs, we noticed that housekeeping was on the floor so my mom took a picture and show them what we found in person. We went downstairs and notified front desk. They told me because I booked through a third party, there’s nothing that they can really do for us but we should send the picture that we took to the email of the Director of housekeeping of the hotel. We didn’t want to argue because we were already running a little bit late to the graduation so I said ok. However, I am disappointed that nothing could have been done or offered. This is a health hazard and a very nasty experience. For anyone who books this hotel please thoroughly check the sheets and as a caution please bring sanitation products whenever checking into any hotel, you can never be too careful.nnI will be calling the booking site I used to see if I can get a partial refund back. Just thinking about it makes me cringe and I felt bad for my mom. Thankfully, my bed was OK.nnThe front desk are super nice! Just upset that nothing was done. It felt like a brush off when in actuality this is a horrible event for a customer.
The junior suite was impressive in design with double height windows and great views. However, the room needed a serious refresh. The bathroom tiles were cracked and moldy. Service also left much to be desired. We requested a down-free room both when the reservation was made and before check-in. We arrived to find all down pillows. Fortunately, my partner only has a mild allergy to down, but the situation could have been much worse for someone with a more serious allergy. Clearly there are management issues and poor communication with the staff. I don't have this problem with other major flags, so what's the deal, Hyatt?
This Hyatt Regency hotel in centrally located in Buffalo. Check-in was quickly done as usual in Hyatt hotels. I was assigned a room on the upper floors with good views over the area. To be honest, the hotel and its interior are quite old and outdated, but mostly well kept. Except the hairdryer in the bathroom, which was dirty, dusty and sticky. I can’t say anything about restaurants, the gym or the pool as I didn’t use them during my short stay. Nevertheless I would book this hotel again.
