Courtyard by Marriott Buffalo Downtown/Canalside

We were left in a tough situation at our booked Airbnb and ended up leaving at 3:30 AM due to an insane amount of spiders crawling. We called EVERYWHERE. And this place is the only place that was available. We were charged $350 for the NIGHT and when we walked into our room 326 it REEKED of cigarette smoke DESPITE the no smoking sign. How the room was “clean” but smelled disgusting is beyond me. Everything was made but when we walked in, it smelled like someone had been hotboxing the room for days. We called for a room change but there wasn’t one available, so they ended up bringing air freshener which was helpful but brought on another strong scent. We finally started to settle down and chose to use their wine glasses to have a drink….. only to find a lipstick smear on the glass. This leads me to believe that they only clean things that are perceived to be dirty instead of proper protocol of cleanliness. Disappointing for $350 a night. Customer service and the water pressure saved this rating from being a 1 star.

This was probably one of the best hotels we have stayed at. SO clean - the bed was amazing - the room large enough with a great sitting area and the shower was to die for. Parking was EASY. Let us give a shout out to the Bistro gentlemen who made a burger and fries for us even though it was 10 min to closing - the burger was GREAT - that gesture simply said YOU are an asset at the hotel and im sure to people around you. Thank you, Courtyard.

Easy drive to get to hotel. Nice staff, clean rooms. Convenient park spot. Kudos to Kiki, she is so nice, has good energy, and helpful. Definitely a good option when downtown Buffalo.

Pros: large room, excellent shower, location close to many things. Cons: Sink in bathroom not functional at check in and no maintenance on site, so moved to another room - which was really dirty, including a blood stain on the shower mat and mold around the rim of the sink. Requested cleaning, which came next day. Sink still has mold, bath mat was removed but new one not provided. Also, pool is cold, hotel is noisy with kids running through halls all night, and someone nearby left their dog in their room and it barked and howled constantly. Not really what I'd expect for the price

The place was super nice and clean! It was one of the nicer hotels we've stayed at. Beds are comfy showers are walk ins and the room is nice and big with a couch!
