Homewood Suites by Hilton Toronto-Markham

Went to this location a few years ago and it was really good. We still liked our stay today but it wasn't the same. The room was kinda old and there were 2 flies that hovered around until we took them down. The place wasn't well cleaned but it wasn't dirty either, it just felt "old". The hotel is nicely located in Markham, driving around to find restaurants is good and it's easily accessible by highway. They have a pool and a gym they were open during our stay. The breakfast was included : sausages, eggs, potatoes, oatmeal, bread, fruits : a nice complimentary SIMPLE breakfast and OK quality. I would stay here if you get a good deal but not full price.

My kids and I really enjoyed our stay here. As a matter of fact my kids didn't want to leave. Great people work here. The bed is not very comfortable for me it's very flouncy and cloud-like like in the movies and while it was great to experience, I do prefer a firmer bed. I'm thankful for the kitchen staff who welcomed my son's hugs, and the other staff who talked with him. We appreciate you guys.

Nice clean hotel. Wonderful staff. Conveniently located at the heart of Markham right by Costco. Free on site charging stations for EVs. We stayed for a week and really enjoyed it. BTW, I noticed that some reviewers complained about the lack of daily room cleaning. This was explained very clearly at check in that extended stay gets a room cleaning every 5 days. This is perfectly fine as I prefer to be left alone anyway. There are always housekeeping staff in the halls during the days and they provided everything I requested.

Great hotel for the price. Not far off the 404, so it worked well for events in the downtown. The room was nice. Kitchenette was well equipped. Everything was clean and functional. Blinds made it really dark at night, which I really liked. Bed wasn't the most comfortable, but hotel beds are pretty hit or miss depending on the person. Breakfast was good, with several options and plenty available. Check in and out was all done in the Hilton app, and was pretty easy. Staff were great. The cleaning staff rearranged my child's stuffed toys so they were all waiting on the bed when we got back, and it made him so happy to see that when he came in tired from a long day. Only issue we had was the pool was often out of towels. But thats it, and its pretty minor. Would definitely stay here again.

Good things: Nice place. Clean. Breakfast was good. Rooms are clean. Most of the property is well maintained. Staffs are nice. Easy parking. Close to everything like restaurants, highway etc. Room comes with nice commodities. Fridge, stove microwave etc. Bad things: Sofa bed is very uncomfortable. Try not to call reception with the in room phone. No one will answer. You have to go downstairs at the light if you want to talk to receptionist. DANGEROUS carpet front door. Very slippery. I saw an old lady who slipped right there at the entrance. They need to glue our duck tape that carpet in front entrance. Overall good stay.

Not worth the money. The suite was decently big and the breakfast was fairly simple. The room service could have been a lot better, though. The cleaning person forgot to pick up our dirty towels, and we didn’t get shower caps. When we went to the front desk there was no one there, and when we went back a while later there was still no one there. If someone were to walk in with a weapon, there would have been no one there to stop them

A highly recommended place for family or business travelers . Nice hot breakfast served every morning , place is clean , during weekends maybe a bit crowded . Room is spacious with a small kitchen . For some special reasons, I have stayed here for a month, staff are really nice and friendly. Free parking but have to park far away if you come back late. A nice swimming pool and a small gym.

We stayed for one night in a two-bedroom suite. It was spacious, clean, equipped with a kitchen, and had 3 TVs. A solid stay. The hot breakfast was fine. Wish there was a hot tub along with the pool, but otherwise a solid choice in Markham.Rooms: 5/5

Update: The manager has since reached out to us and has resolved the issues to our satisfaction. We are willing to give the hotel another try next time we are in the area and update our review again at that time. Original Review: The hotel itself was nice upon entering. From a distance all public areas looked well taken care of and clean. Other than the pool, we didn't use any other guest areas. Our room, however, was another story. The living room and bedroom areas looked run down. Sections of the wall paper were visibly dirty, some carpet areas were frayed, and the bathroom was barely clean still having signs of other people's hair left behind. The shower head also leaked and sprayed water out of the connection and the drain seemed to be clogged as water was slow to drain. In the living room the desk chair had a broken arm that unfortunately, one of us ripped our brand new $100 pants on, when we sat down without looking. We immediately called down to the front desk to let them know. Someone did come up to see. Acknowledged the ripped pants, broken chair arm, and told us the chair would be replaced and the manager would speak to us in the morning. The next day a maintenance person did come by with a new chair and took the old one. However, during our entire stay, not once did a manager bother to reach out. Needless to say, we won't be going back to this location. It is obvious the rooms are not on any regular maintenance check. Nor does it appear that the rooms are ever deep cleaned to maintain any kind of standard of cleanliness.
