Edward Hotel Markham

I was here for a business training conference held by Don Valley North Toyota. Great first impression! The lobby was great, the couches and interior were designed and placed well. The washroom was pretty clean. The staff were very gentle and friendly. Free parking. The atmosphere was okay. I did not like the uncomfortable seating in the conference room. Sitting on them for 8+ hours is no fun. Very very uncomfortable. Otherwise a great experience.

Walked in to what seems to be an immigration shelter. There were children running around EVERYWHERE! I went down to the pool for a swim and on my way up to my room the elevator stopped on three floors. All three floors are housing 'long term' which mean these families live in the building and treat it as they would an apartment building. Kids were brawling in front of the elevator doors and swearing. The room was okay apparently renovated with marks all along the walls, dirty windows. 'Hotel' did not want to offer me a refund when I said I wanted to check out. Ended up leaving the hotel and not even staying the night. Complete waste of money.

Food was decent, but loved the Nanaimo bars. The amenities were nice. Washroom smelt a little "too clean". Staff were friendly. Aesthetics of the lobby are on point.

Beautiful looking hotel lobby. Rooms need work. Couch is sagging, phone in sitting room broken. Could be cleaner. No room service at all. Pool was closed for an issue. Water pressure in shower/ bath is horrible. Parts falling near heater unit. I'm sure it must have been lovely in it's heyday but is in desperate need of some help now.

Checked in for an overnight stay. Room was at the end of the hallway so nice and quiet. The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was nice as well and overall the hotel was great. Location being close to both highways 407 and 404 made it very convenient and lots of great places to eat.
