Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Northeast/Markham

This is not my first stay at a Marriot hotel, and I would definitely stay here again. The location was good, not the best, but not bad.nService was INCREDIBLE. Friendly, helpful, polite and refreshingly sincere.nMy room was a bit small but very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great.nEven the staff at the little restaurant was super friendly and helpful.nI will also add, the coffee in the room is not great but much better than at many other hotels.

Close to the 404. Enjoyed the room. Service was excellent. They were very friendly and recognized my Bonvoy status with a gift and upgrade. The parking is an extra fee but the hotel is still more affordable than most others in the area. I really liked their full size pool and when staying at their TownPlace Suites, the breakfast buffet.

Hotel staff are aloof. Used their “luggage storage” service when switching rooms after having to extend my stay, I mysteriously opened my bag to find items missing nice hair product and fragrance bottles. Notified the reception staff and was met with deaf ears. Now, almost 20 days after checking out, suspicious new charges from the hotel are appearing on my credit card. Phoned and confronted the staff and again was told there are no new charges. Will be disputing this with the bank. Take caution, bring luggage locks and monitor bank statements.

The hotel needs to work not only in updating / refreshing the rooms, but most importantly in the cleanliness. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member and my recent stay wasn’t up to the standards I am used to. Past-guests hairs, rusty surfaces, notoriously dirty carpet… not good. The highlight and likely one good thing about my stay was the service and warmth at the bistro during breakfast.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, it was a decent, functional experience. The facilities are well-maintained, and the pool and exercise room are particularly nice. However, there are a few areas that could use improvement.nnThe parking structure is inconvenient. You have to walk across the building to get to the elevators from the parking area, which can be a hassle, especially if you have luggage.nnThe service is mediocre. Despite providing my email, I never received any communication and had to call to get my receipt. They were performing water maintenance and I was never notified. This can be very frustrating and detracts from the overall experience.nnIn summary, while the amenities are good, the parking situation and service issues make it less than ideal. I hope the hotel can address these concerns to improve the guest experience.
