Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rapid City - Rushmore South

We had a late arrival with our family 9pm and our room was still not ready for us. They quickly ‘cleaned’ it while we waited with tired children, and came into a room with no towels, pee all over the back side of the toilet seat, hair all over the counter and sink, in the shower, and even on the desk. The desk had spills on it and the bathroom counter was not wiped down. The headboards and cupboards had greasy smears all over them. My husband retrieved towels himself pool towels, as they had no towels left for us for our family as well as brought up a cleaning bottle to clean the counters/sink/desk himself. The lady at the front did note the issues and offered to come re-clean, but our family was finally in the room and it was nearly 10pm. She seemed apologetic, but everything else was absolutely terrible. I would never stay here again.

The hotel rooms were nice and clean. The coffee was terrible, like brown tinted flavorless water. The free breakfast was being put out at 6:15 am. I smelled it when I walked in the room so I entered the opened door and the lady told me that breakfast doesn’t start until 7am! The morning people are all gone by then. And why start putting breakfast out and hour early only to let it sit and get old? Nice rooms, terrible food service

The ladies working at breakfast on Saturday, June 1st were very unfriendly and uninviting. One of the ladies told my 7yr old son to stop and he had enough cereal in his bowl when he was getting some. It's none of her business how much cereal he's wanting. Also they were closing up the breakfast area 10 minutes before closing while my family was still trying to get food. They kept closing the doors to the food area. I understand that they want to clean up but when families are still trying to finish up, it's makes a family feel very unwelcome and like they are annoyed we are even there trying to eat before we get on the road. If they're too grumpy to work around people, get a job where you don't have to deal with people face to face. That being said, the front desk lady the night before was extremely friendly.

Everything was great, EXCEPT THE MAID SERVICE. Husband and I stayed 10 days. When we went into the room originally there was no coffee or cups, there was green snot and yellow ring of something on the shower curtain, trash bags were draped over the side of the trash cans and the windows were gross. There was a coffee maker though. Two days later we received 2 coffee pods and 4 coffee cups. Never saw coffee cups or coffee in our room again. The maid only came in when he felt like it and all he did was make the bed, put an unopened trash bag on the trash can, and give new towels. No vacuum service, didn't clean the windows that has stuff smeared on it. If you want to stay in a room where maid services suck, stay here. I paid over $1000 to stay here and will never stay here again. When you have to go downstairs and get your own towels and coffee, I might as well stayed home cause the service is better there.

I had to clean my bathroom upon arrival! Hair in the tub and sink and what looked like poop on the counter. Yuck! Stained bedding, breakfast had no options! Breakfast didn't offer gravy or scrambled eggs and had burnt biscuits and burnt sausage links. I had to find a roll of toilet paper in the middle of the night since housekeeping didn't out a spare roll in the room. I am HIGHLY disappointed! Just dirty and disgusting! I would not recommend thos place to anyone! I will never stay here again!
