Wow. The speech pathologist and dietician here put a great deal of thought into how to customize their recommendations for my case.nnThe x-ray and fluroscopy were friendly and made me feel less anxious about the procedure.nnThe hospital itself was clean and fairly quiet. There was someone playing relaxing guitar music in the atrium.nnThe washrooms were wheelchair accessible. Some had doors that opened mechanically with a button.
This review is regarding the cafeteria. I went in there for a grilled cheese sandwich and the cook never changed his gloves. The sandwich tasted like rancid oil, I had bacon added and it was horrible very over powering taste of rancid oil. Very poor service too .. no one was even there and it took way too long to come see what I wanted to order. Horrible. I wanted some water for my aunts coffee because it was too hot and they tried to charge me for a bottle of water? I asked them if they could use the sink right in front of me.. they did not want to do that until I got mad and asked why I would have to buy water? So after I bought a Starbucks coffee for her they wanted me to purchase a bottle of water to cool it off.. lol .. talk about crazy. The ice maker was broken as well. I would never eat or drink here again. I should also mention that they tried to charge me for the paper cup to carry the water to someone in a wheelchair on top of everything.
After spending a month at the Royal Alex for a spinal cord injury, I was transferred to the Glenrose rehabilitation hospital. There's not enough words to express all my gratitude to all staffs. The Unit 3B nurses were really caring for the 5 weeks I spent there. I was expecting anything else than struggling but I was wrong. A social workerBrenda was assigned to me who helped me a lot to keep my home while I was recovering. My occupational therapist Marissa and physiotherapists Jacqueline & Jim did some fantastic works to get back walking again and made sure I was ready to go home. Everyone made my staying so enjoyable. Thank you so much.
I was participating in the cardiac rehab program. I found this experience very frustrating and a waste of time. My experience was one of confusion and frustration. If the Alberta Healthcare system is managed like this program the inefficiency and ineffectiveness it is not surprising. I was hoping to get a lot out of this program. Unfortunately all I got was a bad taste in my mouth. There is no customer service or interaction. I can’t leave 0 stars cause that is what I would rate it at…
I suffered a traumatic spinal injury and after many weeks in the Alex and many more in my home hospital I came to the Glen Rose facility. I can't say enough about the Dr's and Therapy team who cared for me and showed me how to live. I came in a hopeless mess and as I write this, I've been here 5 weeks. I've got 5 more to go and feeling strong and venturing out further weekly. These people are miracle workers . Camira, MacKenzie, Jimmy , Social Worker Karen and many Dr's. Nurse Nella , Sarah , Nurmella to name a few. You all are in my prayers for life.
