Distance Runwear is a Vancouver an North Vancouver-based specialty running store started by Dave and Meghan Cressman in 2012. The need for a true specialty

Story

We have a collection of brands that represent the best in distance running apparel, footwear and accessories. We also have stepped out of the norm with our shoe brands preferring to promote new and exciting brands and some established brands not seen in other specialty stores.

Distance Runwear carries functional and fashionable clothing, useful accessories and of course a selection of the most progressive footwear for road and trail. We strongly encourage all runners new and experienced to review their running stride and look for ways to improve their running economy.

The best running store in BC, hands down. This store raises the bar for knowledge, service and products. I drive all the way from Abbotsford and it's always worth the drive.

Experienced and expert staff (when I mean experienced, I mean they're actual runners as well). They're knowledgeable in all the products they carry and can advise on what works based on your preference and needs. They carry many great brands that may not be found at regular big box stores (Altra, Inov8, Hoka, ON Cloud, Asics, Pearl Izumi, Salomon, Dynafit, Newton, and more). Plus it's great to support the local retailers. There is a section in the rear of the store with 50% off sale items. There's a unisex washroom located inside the change room. There's a self propelling treadmill to test out running shoes or you can ask to try it out front on the concrete walkway. In the back, there are two parking stalls marked for Distance Runwear. Can also pay along the side of the building or down the street on Lynn.

Love this place! Around the corner from MEC and worth checking out. As good as it gets in terms of a running shore in the Vancouver area and North Van. Expert staff that can help find you a pair of road or trail shoes perfect for your foot, weight and running style, as well as clothes, socks and hydration pack. More variety in selection (with some brands like Altra, Inov-8, and Topo that you can't find easily in Canada) and surprisingly good prices compared to bigger stores, plus a lot of sale and clearance deals on shoes and clothing in the back.
