Running Room

Great experience! The staff were so knowledgeable, so supportive, and so pleasant. I bought an excellent pair of shoes at a good price. I will definitely return.

I purchased a pair of running shoes and unfortunately they did not end up working out for me. I was not provided with the running shoes box from the store when I purchased them, when I came in to return them they informed me they could not be returned despite being in brand new condition because I did not have the box. The manager was down right rude and condesending and seemed more interesting in being right than being helpful. Called downtown location and they said they would provide the refund without any problem (without the box) and I had no issues there and they were extremely helpful and pleasant. AVOID THIS LOCATION; DOWNTOWN IS ONLY A TEN MINUTE DRIVE AWAY AND THEY WILL OFFER BETTER SERVICE.

I've been running for many years now. I have ten marathons and close to 20 halfs under my belt. I typically go to the Running Room for shoes because their prices are more competitive than other local shops, and normally they are somewhat friendly. I recently switched to minimalist shoes and my current pair are fairly worn out so I popped into the Running Room to see what they had to offer. They had no minimalist shoes and the woman attending me said that had made a decision to stop selling them. I tend to supinate when I run so I asked what shoes they offered to counter this, and she advised it was the "stability" shoes that had the blue description. Okay. She didn't ask what I wanted the shoes for, how many miles I ran a week, or anything. At one point she ignored me to speak to the only other person in the store who was either a friend or a coworker. She didn't ask if I wanted to try similar shoes in a different brand. Nothing. With no one in the store I was actually made to feel like I was somehow imposing on her time. I couldn't figure out if I needed a size 9 or a 91/2 and she was of no help there, either. She suggested I need a 91/4. Great. I said I had a pair of Asics (which I ended up buying) at home and I would compare the size and then return them if necessary, and what was their return policy. Now I have a $160 pair of shoes which I think are too big and I will return for a size 9, but this will be the last time I visit this particular Running Room. Zero friendliness. Aside from pulling the shoes out of the backroom to bring them to me, she offered nothing. And now I wonder if she upsold me, because the pair I was looking at were $130 but she said they didn't have any in stock in my size, they only had another "more reflective" pair for an extra $20. Yeah. Fail.
