Food was really yummy, such a nice hearty meal. I got mushroom cabbage rolls with a side of cheddar perogies. They were sooooo delicious. The place is really popular and super packed, so attentive little on the noisy side and it's difficult for servers to keep up, but i understand. Still a great place to try authentic polish food.
The flavours were unreal, and everything was cooked to perfection.nnWe ordered the dumpling soup, the cabbage rolls dinner, and the schnitzel dinner—honestly, the best dinner spread ever IMO. I especially loved the dumpling soup because it was an entirely new soup for me! The dumplings were just the perfect little bites and so soft inside. I would love to learn how to cook this.nnPortions were huge, like took up the entire plate huge, and the service was super quick and patient while my partner and I took forever deciding on the best dish combo to try everything.nnOverall, such a great experience—I’ll definitely be back, and I have already recommended the place to three people.
This restaurant is great. There’s a ton of diverse Polish menu items options to choose from. The portions are large. The staff are polite and very quick. I really enjoyed the basics like the perogies and the sausages. More complex dishes were great too like borscht and the Polish pancake but I really like the hearty tastes of the basics.
Winter calls for hearty, comforting meals, and Café Polonez delivers just that. A neighborhood staple for over a decade, this Polish restaurant is known for its schnitzel and potato pancakes—my personal favorites. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and upgraded my sides to their famous crispy, golden potato pancakes, paired with a rich and savory mushroom gravy. My friend opted for the potato dumplings with pork stew gravy, and both dishes were pure comfort on a cold night. The warm and welcoming service added to the experience, making it another satisfying visit.
It’s really hard to explain the level of welcoming considering hip Roncesvalles the staff are. They made my group enjoy our time together more. Also, great espresso so we were less cranky :nnFact is, the food is so delicious and the portions and value is through the roof. Because this place is a classic, and for a reason
