This place is a must. They are usually busy, but it's worth the wait. Authentic Polish food, fresh ingredients, great seasoning, good balance between meat and vegetables, and the portions are huge. The service was fast and friendly. I'm definitely coming back.
Nice dining room, just quite noisy, not sure if that caused by the noise can easily bounce within the dining room, happy with very well cleaned restroom.nSevice is good, very attentive.nBeef goulash soup is delicious,nPierogi stuffed with meat is also nice. Food portion is big as well.
Ordered PLATTER for 2$68 and the platter came with 2 cabbage rolls, 6 pierogi, 2 schnitzel, and braised sauerkraut, red cabbage, carrots and coleslaw. For pierogies we picked 3 each of cheddar & potato as well as sauerkraut & mushrooms. Was impressed by solid pierogies with amazing dough! Also loved all the veggies that came with this platter. This platter was big enough for three people!
Dropped by Cafe Polonez for a late weekend lunch. It was packed, but the turnaround was faster than we expected. We only had to wait about 30 minutes before being seated.nnThe food was great. We had the Combo Platter 1, the daily special soup, and the potato pancakes. Portions are definitely generous! It can get a little loud and cramped when they're busy, but the meal is worth it. Will definitely be back.
Before visiting High Park for cherry blossom, we went for lunch at this small Polish shop. The interior is simple, with no pressure—an easy, comfortable place to eat.nnThe menu doesn’t feel too different from typical Eastern European restaurants: mostly dumplings and borscht beetroot soup. A staff member recommended a Polish Platter for us, and we also added a cabbage roll. If you’re in Downtown, it’s definitely worth trying.
