Lalibela Restaurant - Bloor St

Just OK. We were looking for a replacement to our favorite Ethiopian food restaurant that shut down (Nazareth) we’ve tried a few other in our search but this one was our least favorite... it’s ok because it’s Ethiopian and we love Ethiopian food... but still not very good food. The salad was actually very good though. We also waited literally 30 minutes for the bill after asking and the service wasn’t the best. Not a terrible place -just not going back.

I enjoyed my time at Lalibella. It was a date night in the lounge area. We ordered fish and veg platter for two, and it had plenty of foo, and it was delicious too. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because of the waiting time. When we first entered no one was there to greet us, and we’ve been waiting for 15 minutes before the waiter came up to us.

A wonderful authentic a Ethiopian cuisine. The platter includes various dishes that showcases this cuisine. The bread is unique and tasty. The price is reasonable and the atmosphere is welcoming. You need to eat with your hands! In great place to to enjoy a nice African meal. Yo won't be disappointed!

My first time having Ethiopian food, so not sure I'm the best judge, but everything was great. The platters for two are very generous. We were 6 people and we ordered two platters for all of us. You'd need more if everyone was really hungry, but it was really good value. Service was fine.

Hm. I've eaten at Lalibela a few times, and honestly, the food is just alright. I find the spicing to be quite bland compared to other Ethiopian spots in the city (such as Nazareth, Rendezvous, etc). The ambiance is nice, the service is decent.
