When one think of rotisserie chicken, supermarket hot food comes to mind but don’t be mistaken because Bernhardt’s is completely different. The meat is flavourful and juicy without the need for gravy though they do provide and comes in big portions that can easily feed 2, the side of potatoes is superb. The green salad is super fresh and complements the chicken well as does the kohlrabi and shrimp dish with its unique mix. The soft serve ice cream and a cocktail was the perfect way to cap off an excellent dinner. The restaurant is top ranked in Canada and can get super crowded even on a random Monday so reservation is highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.

It was raining but we had a delightful table for two on their awning-covered patio. This adorable restaurant tucked amongst homes on a quiet street, has an effortless casual vibe. Great service, music and local seasonal side dishes that are sometimes more stellar than the chicken. We ordered two sides plus a whole chicken, I think next time half would’ve been enough as we had plenty of leftovers to take home. The chicken as always was perfectly seasoned, moist and delicious, drenched in their lick-every-drop gravy. Comfort food at its finest! Green beans with shaved seasoned egg yolk - a very interesting take on a Caesar salad. Fennel with anchovies, buratta and raisins was a dream. For dessert we had to have the fennel soft serve, custard cream on bottom with a raspberry layer in the middle and a drizzle of olive oil. Not too fennelly, just perfect! A fantastic finish to a great meal. What I love about this place, aside from the Bernhardt’s chicken, is it’s always a surprise what will be on the menu. It’s what keeps us coming back! Make reservations ahead of time as they fill up fast. No-shows will be charged.

What an incredible little place. Charming atmosphere, inspiring food, and fantastic service. Bernhardt's menu is meant to be shared, with lots of dishes to choose from. My fiance and I had the polenta, short rib feature, half chicken, ice cream, and the spiced cake yes we had two large desserts. Everything we had was fantastic, and our server explained all the dishes to us in great detail before we ordered. The standouts for us were the short rib, chicken, and ice cream. Price was also very reasonable when you consider the portion sizes and quality of food. Highly, highly recommend Bernhardt's. This could very well be our new favorite restaurant in the city.

Cute home turned into a restaurant! It's a small place with indoor, outdoor, and bar seating but prepare for it to be a little noisy. The music choices were great though lol!nnThe food itself was alright. The rotisserie chicken was okay where the gravy added only slightly more flavor. The potatoes and fries were the best thing tbh, cooked perfectly! The crunchy vegetables was pricey at $19 for just cabbage and lettuce with a vinegarette. Same with the tomatoes being pricey but not that special. The desserts were the real showstoppers featuring a nice sorbet & vanilla ice cream mixed with crispy toppings. The chocolate cake was thick and decadent with a thick creme of the side and mild plum topping.nnThe service was pretty amazing, consistently refilling our water. I appreciate their accommodation to the nut allergy we had in our party and making sure the hazelnut dessert addition was given separately.nnIt was a great experience and would totally recommend for a special night. Excellent service, friendly and knowledgeable. The food is approachable, seasonal and vegetable oriented with a touch of gourmandise. The chicken is juicy and the cod dish was delicious. 1 of each for dessert. I had a beautiful family dinner. Thank you.
