Our favorite brunch spot in Toronto. Been here a couple of time and Union never failed us. The food has been consistently great, especially the sausages, bread and smoked meats. Their sticky pudding with vanilla ice cream is sublime. The menu changes regularly depending on what's fresh. Reservation highly recommended.
I like the vibe in their dining room. The place felt cozy and also that you're dining somewhere that's a nice environment to eat out at. I also liked the fresco painting on the wall above the seating.nnI tried their curry bratwurst sausage with fries and fried egg. This was a tasty and filling dish. I just wish they leaned into the curry flavour a bit more taste-wise. I get the vertical plating looks nice, but it also helps with the dining experience to have enough space on the plate to actually appreciate each ingredient separately as well as together. The dish was stacked high and there wasn't a lot of space to move things around on the plate without making a mess.nnI also had their pancakes, which was nice. It had a healthier and more robust taste to it, I think with buckwheat compared to the typical white pancake flour. I like the stewed apples on top as well as the maple syrup.
The food was good. The beef tartar was amazing, as expected. We love how they roasted the bread with butter; it's crispy and flavourful. The sausage was different than we expected but in a good way. I like how they did the potato; it was soft but crunchy. The portion was okay. Two main dishes were good enough for the two of us for brunch.nThe restaurant is small, so you might expect to wait 15-45 minutes.nThe only minus point is that our server didn’t seem very friendly and attentive. He made us feel like we did something wrong when we asked for recommendations.
Our server was amazing. Super attentive, knowledgable of all the dishes and a pleasure to interact with. Big up York! food was sensational too, we loved every dish we had. Nice presentation and even better taste, 10/10, highly recommended !!
Came here for my birthday, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The service was excellent, and the food was just as impressive. The fries were spot-on because, let’s be real, not every place gets them right. The beet and apple salad stole the show, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. And the hot ginger sticky cake? Pure perfection. Definitely a spot worth revisiting.
