Staff are phenomenal and super willing to help. But we need to talk about the lack of wheelchair accessibility at the checkout point. Most aisles barring ONE are not actually wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair, which is wild in 2026. The point of purchase set up is also inaccessible to a wheelchair user, as there's no way to tilt the screen down to bring it to a useable level and it is incredibly difficult to see and access due to height and the condition of the pinpad. Self check out is completely inaccessible to wheelchair users thanks to the poles in the way making it narrow for walking humans nevermind someone in a wheelchair. The whole experience was intensely frustrating and honestly unacceptable in this day and age. It's 2026, wheelchair users are a solid portion of our population and deserve unfettered access. It's degrading otherwise, this is basic accessibility. if you needed to leave, as a wheelchair user you would have to wait to get out the single check out aisle, and that's honestly ridiculous. Would love to discuss same with the owner but there's no contact information listed. Disabled people deserve the same access as non disabled people.

No frills has chosen evil. Not only are their staff overworked and underpaid leaving the store terribly understaffed and the cashier lines incredibly slow, but also they often sell expired or almost expires products. Produce always goes bad too quickly. Cheese sometimes has mold!

Such a clutch grocery spot in Old Strathcona! Located just a couple of blocks south of Whyte Ave, it’s honestly one of the most affordable grocery options in the area—which is huge for students, locals, and anyone trying to stretch their budget. I live further out in Windermere where we don’t have one nearby, but whenever I’m in the Strathcona neighborhood between home showings or listing appointments, I always make a point to pop in. Great location and super convenient!

I had a very disappointing experience at No Frills Brooks today. I bought flour and butter and was about to pay cash. I politely asked if I could receive some change in loonies or toonies, but the staff member loudly said she was “done” and made a gesture with her hands across her neck.nnI felt embarrassed by the way I was treated, especially in front of other customers. She did not even check or open her till before responding. I respect how hard staff work, but customers also deserve respect and polite communication.nnI hope management can remind employees to treat customers professionally and respectfully.

We were craving for some Candy Cane Eggnog and decided to stop by Brook’s NoFrills to pick up a bottle. Also managed to get some other groceries and pick up a nice bouquet of flowers for a friend. Prices were reasonable and the self check out was fast.
