Friendly staff at the front staff. Breakfast staff and food were great.nnWe had booked for poolside. Ended up second floor by the run down mini golf course. Overlooking what looked like an abandoned courtyard with less than visually appealing. The room was falling apart, the walls had chunks missing, hair not cleaned out of the bathroom. The remote only worked at certain heights and angles. The floor was damp around the beds for some unknown reason.nnThis was not worth $250/night. Had it not been for our team booking there, we would have to one elsewhere. Definitely won't be back until major upgrades have been made.
The best thing about this hotel is the friendly staff and that is where the good things end. It dirty , the room was dirty. There were nail clippings on the floor by the bed . The courtyard is run down and there is construction going on so the hammering starts at 6am. Also we were on the main floor and out sliding door DID NOT LOCK! For the amount they are charging for a room . This is a FAIL .
When we booked this hotel online, it looked like a really nice place with a lot of fun amenities. However, when we arrived, the exterior looked extremely sketchy, almost like we'd been catfished. It wasn't a great first impression, but things improved once we entered the lobby, which was much nicer and gave us hope for a good stay.nnUnfortunately, the room we were given had a strong smell of cigarette smoke. We immediately reported it to the front desk, and they were very accommodating, upgrading us to an executive suite for our four-night stay. The executive suite didn't have the smoke smell, but it didn’t seem much different from a standard room. Since we left the first room quickly, it's hard to say how they compare.nnThe most concerning incident during our stay happened on our second night… our rental car, which was parked in the hotel lot, was broken into!!! Thankfully, there was no damage to the car, but the doors and all the compartments were left open. Since we didn't have anything in the car, nothing was stolen, but it was a very scary experience. We alerted the front desk, but they seemingly didn't call the police or take any significant action. Given that this was a security issue, I expected a more urgent response from them.nnNow for the third issue… we were unfortunately in town for a funeral and needed to iron our clothes for the service. The iron in our room was broken, and when we tried to use it, water poured out of it onto our clothes with mineral deposits and tons of steam came out, triggering the fire alarm. The hotel staff replaced it, but the new iron was dusty, and we didn’t feel like using it. The hotel's laundry room only had one dryer, and it was already in use, so we went down the street to a family member’s house to use their dryer.nnDespite these problems, there were some positive aspects to our stay. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning. The staff, in general, was friendly and helpful. They gave me bandaids when I cut my foot. There are also some great amenities for families, including a small arcade, two pools, and a mini-golf course. This was one of the things that stood out to me when I was booking the hotel online. However, these amenities were a bit run-down and didn’t really live up to the expectation set by the website. Overall, this hotel has potential, but it needs to address some critical issues with security and maintenance. I don’t think I would stay here again, unfortunately.
Booked for 2 nights and came back the 2nd night to see they had checked us out and put us in a different room. We had left some of our stuff in the room which was now occupied but somebody else.nnThankfully Crystal at the front desk was awesome and kept me amused through the whole ordeal of finding our stuff. What should have been a total nightmare turned out okay in the end. They found MOST of stuff in housekeeping. We are still missing some items but we are still hoping the hotel will compensate us. Crystal saved the moment that night by her caring and humour but let’s hope Beat Western can redeem themselves as well
Accessible to the highway while still close drive to all St. Catherine's and surrounding area. It's a short trip to Niagara Falls, NotL, and the Lake Erie shoreline.nnThere's a small indoor pool with sauna, outdoor pool, an arcade, and a basic 9-hole mini golf inside the courtyard, so it's great for kids.nnThe staff were very friendly and eager to help, and they were in good spirits despite a busy event weekend 2024 eclipse. When I return to the area, I'll consider staying again.
