A quiet and restful retreat located in the heart of the Niagara Region close to major attractions and activities. All guest rooms overlook the 7th lift lock on the Welland canal as you can watch the Ships up close from your balcony. The Inn at Lock Seven is 15 - 20 minutes away to Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake, Award winning wineries, Theater, Falls view casino, Niagara outlet mall, Bridal Veil Falls, Royal Niagara Golf Club, St. Catharine's Museum. Cycling trails start right outside our door.

Absolutely the worst motel we have ever stayed in. We actually had to purchase a heater on the night of December 15 as the hotel was completely freezing. 

We then try to check out at 9am for a funeral and the office is closed. After a 20 minute drive to Niagara Falls I then receive a call back saying the employees forgot to open the office... there is no office it's a husband and wife run business. 

After driving back 20 minutes to return the key at 9:40 when the office hours say open at 7:30 we then are told we should have informed him that we were leaving early. What the heck? 9am checkout is early? What wonderful customer service. How about taking responsibility for your mistakes instead of blaming  client.

Have stayed here many times. Very relaxing and very friendly owners. 

I just love sitting on the balcony and watching the ships pass through the canal.

This is an above-basic motel-type place at a fair price. Not fancy but is in a quiet area with an excellent view of a canal lock. Watching the boats can be pretty interesting. Not much within walking distance as it is in a residential area and I don't think Thorold has much to do anyway, but convenient for Niagara area by car. The rooms were very clean, furniture nice, with a balcony overlooking the canal. 2 doubles per room and the beds are firm. Bathroom clean and functional. It is a walkup from the lot ( 1 or 2 storeys) and walkup several steps to office so not accessible if that's an issue. TV is regular cable. WiFi included and speed was decent when we were there. We went in April before the inn offers continental breakfast so can't comment about that. To sum up, I was happy with the visit and would stay there again.
