Food is great, service is top notch. Highly recommended. After a walk around Granville island with our kids, we feel like we are desperate for good dinner and nice drink. It was a sunny day outside and their patio was full. We are happy to sit inside because we had kids and the party is more than 8 people so it is hard to accommodate at the patio. And the service and food to drink did not disappoint at all. Drinks are great, I love their grilled cactus, very interesting taste to try. Will come back again if we want some place to chill out in Granville island
Nice spot for authentic Mexican food in Granville Island. They get busy so make sure to get reservations! The food and also the drinks are really good – their cocktails were all above expectations. The bone marrow is really good and I recommend that you try that.
This is my favorite patio to visit in Granville Island since they let my dog sit with me. The food is delicious and a bit pricey for what it is, but it's due to the location. The service is friendly, but they are too busy so it's quite slow. They are still amazing and do what they can. The bone marrow dish is roasted well, oozing with the richness of the marrow over refried beans and corn. The guacamole doesn't seem authentic with pine nuts and pea shoot sprouts, but I loved it. The steak tacos needed more steak, but otherwise really tasty. The tasting flights are overpriced but I still wanted to them.
The food is the star at Alimentaria! Every item we ordered on the menu was delicious, so much so that we can to come back and try everything else. The ambiance is great and the service is friendly and efficient. It’s a busy place so make sure you have a reservation!
The service was outstanding. The food is authentic and far more exciting than your standard Mexican fare. It does feel overpriced for what you get, that would be my only negative comment. Margaritas are excellent, the pitcher is slightly better value than ordering individual drinks. Highly recommend sharing style!
Granville Island never had it so good. Are you looking for Mexican with an upscale casual vibe? You have come to the right place! I first went during the heat wave last summer and my second time visiting the restaurant was last night. Consistent food and service both times. Great family style share plates. Go for the tuna ceviche, the shrimp tacos and of course, the churros.
Good Mexican food was a pleasant surprise on our first visit to Vancouver, Canada. This cantina is situated in Granville island, a short walk from our hotel. The place had a clean and pleasant vibe. There was spacious indoor dining and festive outdoor seating under several tiki huts. Every dish we ordered was fresh and tasty. The golden beet ceviche was excellent. The guacamole with the freshly fried corn tostadas did not disappoint. All the corn and flour tortillas were freshly made with good ingredients. The appetizer with the Halloumi and grilled cactus salsa was amazing, as was the Shrimp with Rajas. Crispy cauliflower tacos were enjoyed by a friend at the table. All in all, the food was beyond reproach and the dining experience made for a pleasant ending to our first day in Vancouver. Highly recommend!
Amazing food! Amazing service! Amazing drinks! Loved the chevice and lamb barbacoa. Dessert was to die for. Just one thing was the breads that came with the mussels were burnt but they fixed it right away. I love the little shop too! We got salsas and they are all delicious. Will be back!
Great food with warm and friendly service. Awesome with food allergies listed on the menu and over several visits/takeout have always gotten it right. The corn tortillas are so good and enhance everything. Fav’s are the chorizo and beans and even without the cheese cauliflower tacos, both the beef dishes are tasty modifies. friends that eat dairy love the hallouni&cactus. Usually get the ceviche too. Was very fresh the first two times but did not have the same amount of flavour the last time. Love this option on Granville island.
The place is LEGIT! They served the best Horchata I have ever had in my entire life! The Agua de Jamaica was also refreshing and even had some sort of creamy cap to it. Everything served from the churros, bunuelo, and duck flautas tasted fresh and amazing. What was quite unique too was that they served a green chorizo made green with poblano peppers. They also have a tasty red and green sauce. They even sell their sauces in a store type arrangement within their restaurant. Very immersive and high quality food experience.
