This little spot has got a super cute interior, with an instagramable flower wall and a few other neon signs. However, upon entry the restaurant had a bit of an odd smell. So we opted to sit on the patio as it was a beautiful day. In terms of service, although they were super nice, they really took while to come back to do table maintenance throughout our time there. We started with Chips and Guacamole, alongside the complementary chips and green sauce they give you. I loved the green sauce/salsa, it’s so savoury and delicious, and also paired really well with everything we ate. The guacamole wasn’t super tasty though, I think it needed a bit a salt. I wanted to order a non-alcoholic beverage but they were out of lemonade, and they only had two options for Jarritos, which was a bit disappointing. For entrees we ordered the Del Trompo A Tu Trompa pastor pork meat with roasted onion and pineapple and the Chamorro slow cooked pork shank and beans. Both dishes came with flour tortillas on the side and a few other fixings. First of all, the Del Trompo was beautifully plated, such an attractive dish. Not only was it good looking but is was delicious! One of the sauces on the side has got a nice kick to it as well! But I was a little bummed out they didn’t plate mine with the roasted onion. The Chamorro was great too! It was super tender and very well seasoned. I didn’t order any tacos, but my friends at the table did and although very cheap, the tacos didn’t seem to pack a flavourful punch like the other dishes mentioned. Overall, I probably wouldn’t suggest you go here strictly for the tacos but if you are willing to explore the rest of the menu and are in the mood for cocktails and beer, this is totally the spot you!
Tequila Cocina is a Mexican restaurant located in downtown Vancouver. They present a more genuine Mexican food flavor. The atmosphere is almost nice and different. Entering the restaurant, you’ll feel the Mexican atmosphere and vibe. ‍Regarding Covid situation and high employee turnover, the staff was not proficient at knowing the menu and handling the order and the bill. Yet, they try to do their best. Some items are overpriced I believe and are not worth trying. For example, MOLCAJETE MEXICANO is $45 and not what you have to get for the price you pay. This price makes more sense in fancy restaurants. * Recommendation: The ASADA RANCHERA is delicious and good to order. Still the overprice issue remains the problem as you have to pay $28 which is not logical. After all, its worth trying once as the food is delicious. Enjoy!
This place is absolutely amazing cannot say enough good things about it, the staff is amazing they all know Spanish I recently started taking classes so I try to practice a bit here and English so whatever your preferred language is you can communicate, they are all very super nice and are very helpful. The main event of the show the food here is absolutely AMAZING I can’t say anymore good things about it no matter what you get it’s fresh, tasty and full of flavour honestly this is first place I’ve tried where the food compared to food in Mexico. I got the tacos and sangria in this picture but honestly order anything and you won’t be disappointed. Overall, if you’re looking for a Mexican place to eat in Vancouver, you have to come here amazing staff food and atmosphere. The only word of advice there usually is a long line at night on the weekends so get there early
Delicious Mexican cuisine and they always have good vibes at this place. This was a nice surprise. Initially we walked past this as I was looking for something different, but we decided against walking all.over the place and dropped in. I am happy we did. Great fresh food, great staff owners and was reasonably priced.
It was a very good experience, I took my whole family and the service was great: Fast Very good service Sauces that are really spicy Very tasty flavour in the tacos The torta is delicious my dad says so The Alambre is super tasty. The service in general is very good from the moment you walk in ... I hope to return soon to try the micheladas.
Like the vibe and interior. I recommend Enchiladas and the price is . We also got buffalo wings. Was a bit salty. But I'll probably visit again to try something else :
Amazing and authentic food! Cocktails were also so good. Servers were attentive. Overall great place to dine in!
Had a really great experience here and with the half-price taco Tuesdays, it's a steal. Also, highly recommend the Mezcal Margarita.
A must visit Mexican spot in Vancouver. I came here on Family Day and though it was very busy, the staff made me feel spoiled and taken care of. First, they welcome me with their chips and red sauce but I also asked them for their mango habanero sauce which is so good I recommend you to try if you like very spicy hot sauces. Second, I ordered the traditional Mexican Pozole and the it was so flavourful that reminds me the actual Pozole you get as if you were in Mexico. Fun fact: Pozole is usually served on special occasions or weekends only. But coincidentally, they had it in the kitchen so I have to have it and they made it happen. It worth the wait. The restaurant was full and while I waited for my meal, I had a Carajillo, which is Espresso coffee with ice and liquor 43. Lastly, it was time for dessert and the cherry on top was the "tres leches" cake and "Napolitano" flan. The first was milky and spoungy while the second was so creamy. Both of them so yummy. Shout out to the kitchen staff and the servers, Alejandra and Yarem, for their promptness and kindness and to the Manager, Mayra, for looking after every detail of the operation. There is no doubt that the staff's performance and quality of service mirrors the leader they have. Great job guys! Well deserved five star review and I highly recommend everyone to come visit Tequila Cocina. The portions are quite generous in size and the drinks are well prepared here. This place is normally busy but as customers we have to be mindful that the staff do their best to provide you with their best customer service in a timely manner in such fast paced environment. Again, thank you guys and see you in the near future!
