This is the most authentic Japanese Udon restaurant! It is uncommon using Japanese Flour freshly making Udon! The Udon style is Authentic Sanuki style! The Shrimp tempura, Pork Belly and Curry Beef are exceptional good. Very very Japanese! We like them all! Thank you bring authentic Japanese udon to Toronto!
Yummy Japanese udon restaurant in Scarborough. A bit more upscale vibes, with both floor and bar seating. Exceptional service. The waiters and waitresses anticipate for all customer needs so quickly. The food itself was also good, with freshly made noodles. The noodles could use a bit more chew but still good.
This is THE place to enjoy authentic Japanese udon. The quality is even on par with the best shops in Japan! We love the chewy and very aromatic noodles. The broth is well balanced between fish and seaweed flavour and not funky at all! For the topping, my personal favorite is the kakiage: crunchy yet taste fresh and full of sweetness from the vegs and the prawn. Price is high but totally worth it.
Came with a group of 12 for a wonderful end of summer lunch they sat us 6 and 6. A wonderful experience from beginning to end. Service was great, food was just absolutely stunning. You’ll never want regular udon again I mean you’ll have it, but it won’t quite hit the spot. Take the time to go through the menu, as it is somewhat more extensive than you might imagine it’s digital on QR code. If you’re looking to celebrate and enjoy a light taste-wise and delicious meal, this could be your jam.
I loved sitting at the bar for a more in depth look on how the food was made. The bar faces directly into the kitchen and you can see all the hard work the chefs put into the food. So cool! The food is amazing of course. The udon is bouncy, broth is light and the toppings are cooked to perfection. I highly recommend trying a udon with pork belly on it for the first time. It is sooo soft and super flavourful. The sushi here is also very well made. Definitely use high quality fish. Tastes delicious! Amazing service as well. Very kind servers. Will be back again and again!
The staff is very attentive and polite. Atmosphere is very much modern japanese theme. The food came out in a timely manner. Portion sizes are small given the price of dish but the quality and service is definitely there.
I wanted to try this restaurant for a while. Their decor is very good. Bathrooms were clean. Service was good too. However, given what they are charging their food, I expected a bit more. We found a bone in the sashimi. The everything udon soup was a bit salty. The cold udon was good. The Sakura shrimp udon was unique but it didn't contain a lot of shrimps. Decor 5 stars Service 5 stars Food 3 stars Overall 4 stars.
I’m a Ramen fans but not Udon, but this udon restaurant really give me a good surprise. Udon is chewy and smooth, soup base is rich and toppings are tasty above average. I saw many people ordered dessert, strawberry syrup on crushed ice, which looks pretty good for selfie. A real Japanese run restaurant, staffs are polite and attentive. 5
Beef is very good. Eel is very fatty, melts in the mouth, just need a bit more sauce or grill to bring out more flavour. My friend's pork belly was mostly fat when mine was mostly meat. So hit or miss. Both of our chicken was overcooked. Udon was good but ramen which seems like just a thin version of udon was better... they undercooked the ramen but it turned out with better texture at the end. The broth was way too salty for both, seriously wanted to add water to it. I have had better housemade yuzu udon in Calgary and broth there was very good, refreshing with grated yuzu. Sesame ice cream was surprisingly better than hojicha ice cream.
We reserved a spot for 2pm before they closed down at 230 and the table was ready when we arrived. Ordered a pork belly and fried shrimp udon, unagi set and both portions were quite large. The presentation was beautiful and udon was very authentic. You could see the chefs in the kitchen were very serious and meticulous when preparing food. Only not a 5 star because the unagi wasn’t flavorful enough, the edges were also a bit dry. It’s also a bit expensive but good if you want a an occasional special meal.
