No wonder why this place has no business on a Sunday. While the photos may look okay to you, the sukiyaki pot has everything served in the pot. How am I supposed to split the protein out and cook them piece by piece as suggested? The coconut chicken pot is not worth the money either. Pretty sure they simply chopped the drumsticks and that’s it. Definitely not worth the price. Service is not very good either. I had to ask for egg as dipping for the sukiyaki pot, while that’s standard and they even said in their menu that it should be expected.
I like the concept of individual hot pots, so that people can just order the broth they like. I got the beef brisket as my protein and it was just regular hot pot meat, so no complaints there. The pot ranges from $20-$45 depending on what filling you get least expensive is vegetarian, most expensive is wagyu so the beef brisket was mid-$20's which I think is worth it bc I was super full. I also shared takoyaki with my friend, and it was a bit subpar bc it was mostly dough and not too much octopus inside. For drinks I got the smashed lemon black tea which I recommend for anyone who likes HK lemon tea, and my friend got the jasmine matcha latte with raisins. Except it didn't come with raisins so we were disappointed but also secretly not they also seem to have some nice udon dishes that I might come back to try. Service was really friendly. I didn't like that your clothes smell like kitchen afterwards, so try not to wear anything fancy or non-machine washable.
We came here in party of 2 and got the Thai Spicy& Sour Shrimp as starter, the Szechuan Spicy Shabu and the Tomato Beef Shabu as mains, and two drinks. Overall the food was great and the service was fast and friendly. Pros: - Great food - Nice presentation - Fresh ingredients Cons: - Restaurant has no sign currently as it's soft opening, place was not easy to find
Food is good. The hotpot is for one person, which is just enough for normal man. You may need more add-ons, if hungry. The table is quite small. The high table and high chairs are a bit risky for serving hotpot.Food: 4/5
This cosy place is very nice. Order an Kimchi pot and creamy pork bone pot. It was good. The kimchi was alittle sweet, and the pork bone was salty after boiling for a while, but regardless it was yummy. The service was good, the person was attentive, to bad they had remove the drinks menu. I’ll definitely come back again. Forgot to take a before picture but here is an after. They gave me extra noodles after that I have gotten the wrong one. It was really nice of them, I told them it was fine.
New Yabu Shabu Desserts Restaurant - first of its kind in Toronto? The Name is a typical "hot-pot" dishes like the Chinese version, Haidilao. However, they are nothing but Hot-pot in single dish bowl or wok. They also have other dishes to try out. The shabu is tasty enough, perhaps, with MSG instead of fish or bone broth. Ingredients in the "shabu" were typical chinese-style - not Japanese. At $23 per single "shabu," I am better off with Chinese Buffet where I can load up into my soups with all sorts of meats and veggies for the same price - although it can serve 2. Haha. The pricing and serving portion is just not done right! Good luck.
Tried Yabu Shabu for first recently and WOW, this place is exceptional. The food concept is amazing, the ingredients are all super fresh, protein options galore. You get to be the chef of your own pot via Japanese influenced hot pot cooking. Spice and flavors galore. The staff walks you through it all and are extremely friendly and patient. Can't wait till my next visit.
Amazing, and Tech Savy.. You order by use of QR Code... but just warning you if you're a man who loves to eat, the portion sizes are slightly smaller than what they invoke them to be. MarketingFood: 5/5
The staff was friendly and the service was good. I can't speak to all of the broth, but the tom yum was delicious! It came with plenty of food, and I was satisfied with leftovers.Food: 5/5
I’ve been waiting to try Japanese style hotpot, and they are finally open!! I tried the one on the picture, and it’s delicious! it’s light and not too oily or salty. I would for sure come back again!
