Nice place, quiet and fast. Beef noodle cost $15 but they really have beef inside it, so no complains at all. Definitely good food. Also like the tofu i ordered, but forget the name. Order food from QR code is very convenient. Makes it much faster and no need to wait for staff.
This was my first time ordering their food and it was amazing! I lived in Halifax for five years before moving to Toronto, where there aren't many Taiwanese restaurants. Came here after moving here because I missed the Taiwanese beef noodle taste and ordered their signature beef noodle. It's very delicious, very Taiwanese! The broth was thick but not greasy, with the taste of pickled veggies in the mouth, plus the tenderness and strength of the beef, it's really delicious! I changed the noodle, because I like the texture of rice noodles better. My boyfriend ordered the normal noodle, and I also tried a bite, very Taiwanese traditional style We also ordered gua baos, popcorn chicken and 3 side dishes. The gua baos were very delicious, but a little too small. I especially love the pork one, which is very tender. The popcorn chicken is me and my boyfriend's favorite, but prob cuz I just miss the taste of the Taiwanese fried stuff. The three side dishes were pig ears, dried tofu and marinated eggs. The pig ears and tofu were very tasty, but the egg was soso. Overall, their beef noodles, gua baos, and popcorn chicken were super delicious, but the portion was way too small, especially the gua baos were really gone after three bites. But the taste is very authentic! Love it!
The best Chinese taste in DT. It’s not easy to find one has authentic Chinese taste but this restaurant has the closet one. Their stewed beef is the best. Other snacks and noodles are good as well. A highly recommended place for Chinese noodles and marinated snacks.
This place makes a really satisfying braised beef noodle soup. At least for me, the noodles have the right amount of chewiness and thickness to them. I kind of wish I ordered extra noodles. I give the place a 4* only because the service is kind of cold. No one is mean or bad or anything, but the demeanor is it's all business. Your interface with staff is also limited as you do ordering and I think can pay by smart phone. Anyhow, I'd go back for that bowl of noodles anytime.
I'm visiting Toronto for just a few days. This is my first dinner here. Hand made noodles were of great texture. Stewed beef was very tender. Soup flavor was super on. Definitely want to try their platter next time if I get time.Food: 4/5
Ordered one of their rice dishes Braised Beef, Tendon and Tripe Rice which came ready to go once I ordered. The beef was stewed well and tender, and the tendon and tripe were also flavourful. The portion size seemed a bit small but overall was a decent meal. It is probably more recommended to try their noodle dishes as well but the rice bentos are still a good option.
Got the spicy beef noodle, flavour was wonderful, beef very tender. Only critique is that I wish there was more beef compared to amount of noodles. Soy milk is a great beverage to cut the numbing flavours.
Beef noodle is pretty authentic, although I think it could use a little more flavour. I enjoyed the side dishes too. Overall it was a good experience.
Dining with friends and fellow foodies is definitely something I've missed during this COVID era. It was nice to be out again, enjoying some good food! I met some friends for dinner at Four Four South Village, downtown on Yonge Street. It was my first time being there but I was looking forward to having some Taiwanese cuisine. We started by ordering several appetizers, including Braised Beef Shank, Braised Rib Finger Meat, Signature Braised Tofu, Braised Meatball with Soy Sauce, and Braised Pork Trotters. It was all good, hard to choose a favourite. Both ladies in our group had the Hot Pot and it looked delicious! It was all presented on a tray, complete with a gas burner, a pot of broth, noodles, meat to be cooked, and condiments. It looked good! Maybe I should have ordered that! I had the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and it was delicious! The broth had a rich flavour that I enjoyed and the beef was very tender. The other two guys in our party of five had something similar and they also enjoyed it. The decor was nice, with a rustic kinda village vibe. There was exposed concrete and brick walls, very tastefully done though. The food was good, with decent portions, good flavours, and good service. I would come back. One negative, however, was all the chipped dishware, almost every piece. Or was that part of the rustic ambiance? Hmmm...
Came here for the first time for lunch on a random weekend. We ordered their braised pork bento and dandan noodles, both were pretty good! A tad bit too salty to my liking. I kinda expected dry dandan noodles, because the broth makes the toppings blend in and there’s not a lot of meat on it. The braised pork tastes great, but wish it comes with more meat as well. Overall, would come again in the future. Great staff&service, clean environment
