I am very thankful to the hospital staff for the excellent care they provided. The doctors and nurses treated me with great professionalism and kindness during the blood transfusion. Everything was explained clearly, and they closely monitored kidney function, which made me feel safe and confident. The staff was supportive, attentive, and respectful throughout the process. Truly grateful for their care and dedication.
Personally waited with family member tonight and deceivingly made it past triage and intake quickly, but only to be met with 4+ hours of waiting while all other patients got called into the office. All for one really good doctor, but the wait was so long even people who's name got called were still waiting inside that care room. I sat near a sweet helpful younger girl who had been there twice as long as we were, told me what was the holdup and we ended up left without ever seeing the doctor. She left soon after while we were waiting for our ride because she asked again and the wait was yet another 4-6 hours on top of the SEVEN she was already there for. I hope she'll be fine given her situation sounded worse.
What I figured out yesterday was that if you go to emergency, and you are having an emergency… care is exceptional. I was having heart palpitations, arrhythmia and tachycardia and even amidst the chaos I was seen in a timely manner and taken care of well beyond what I expected. I almost didn’t go in because I have gone to emergency, when I was having a hard time, but it wasn’t actually an emergency, and the wait was excruciating. Here’s the take home message: if you use the emergency like a walk in clinic you’re going to have a bad time. When you go to emergency and you’re having an emergency, the nurses, doctors, care aids, phlebotomists, image techs because I saw them all were beyond compare. My wife and I saw numerous people come and go while we waited and commented over and over again about how the nurses were so kind, considerate and patient even with the most difficult. Thank you VGH emergency staff
Bro no words for them . We can all understand that staff is little busy but for valid and true good reasons they help as soon as they could. My doctors . Were can and clarisa I didn’t catch there names but they were so good and even full staff there . They helped me in just 2 hours total . The girl there was so attentive to clean all the chairs and door handles and she help with doctors she is from Bhutan I asked her because she was so hardworking . That impressed me a lot . I don’t know people put bad review . They are all good and professional in their work . Social worker staff is also kind and polite and reception lady she was so cool and jolly . Thankew guys for this service and treatment .
I had a terrible experience with my mom’s care at the ER. We visited on December 31, and because her condition did not improve, we had to return on January 1. During the January 1 visit, the first doctor attempted to collect fluid from her right ankle. It took four attempts, and although the doctor said the numbing should prevent pain, my mom felt pain with every attempt.nOn January 2 around lunchtime, after we had already been in the ER for six hours, a second doctor told us that the ultrasound results of her ankle would be available soon. However, after waiting an additional five hours, a third doctor informed us that the fluid sample taken by the first doctor was insufficient for diagnosis. Ultimately, a specialist had to be called in to obtain a proper sample. The first doctor apparently knew the initial sample was inadequate but insisted on using it anyway. Had that not happened, we could have avoided more than 12 hours of unnecessary waiting in an already overwhelmed ER.nMeanwhile, the nurses repeatedly told me my mom did not need a wheelchair because she was on medication—but if the medication prescribed on December 31 had been effective, we wouldn’t have needed to return on January 1. It was extremely frustrating.nIn total, four doctors evaluated my mom’s ankle. The first doctor on December 31 prescribed medication that did nothing to reduce the swelling. The nurses’ dismissive attitude throughout the process made the experience even worse.
