Vancouver General Hospital Emergency Department

Bro no words for them . We can all understand that staff is little busy but for valid and true good reasons they help as soon as they could. My doctors . Were can and clarisa I didn’t catch there names but they were so good and even full staff there . They helped me in just 2 hours total . My vaccination my blood checkup they gave me medicines and all other things and in emergency ward cleaning is so good washrooms were so neat and clean . The girl there was so attentive to clean all the chairs and door handles and she help with doctors she is from Bhutan I asked her because she was so hardworking . That impressed me a lot . I don’t know people put bad review . They are all good and professional in their work . Social worker staff is also kind and polite and reception lady she was so cool and jolly . Thankew guys for this service and treatment .

What I figured out yesterday was that if you go to emergency, and you are having an emergency… care is exceptional. I was having heart palpitations, arrhythmia and tachycardia and even amidst the chaos I was seen in a timely manner and taken care of well beyond what I expected. I almost didn’t go in because I have gone to emergency, when I was having a hard time, but it wasn’t actually an emergency, and the wait was excruciating. Here’s the take home message: if you use the emergency like a walk in clinic you’re going to have a bad time. When you go to emergency and you’re having an emergency, the nurses, doctors, care aids, phlebotomists, image techs because I saw them all were beyond compare. My wife and I saw numerous people come and go while we waited and commented over and over again about how the nurses were so kind, considerate and patient even with the most difficult. Thank you VGH emergency staff

I waited almost 12 hours to see a psychiatrist, and while I understand that ER wait times can be daunting, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my triage nurse, whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch, and my zone nurse, Steven.nnThey were phenomenal. Truly. Along with all the nurses working there, they are the unsung heroes of Canada. Their compassion, patience, and dedication made a difficult experience much more bearable.nnThey are the kind of nurses I aspire to be one day. Thank you for taking care of me with such kindness and grace while I was in a very difficult place mentally.

There is a nurse named Danielle in the VGH ER department who showed clear racism and hostility toward me as a person of colour.nVGH needs to urgently assess her suitability for the job. Patients come to the ER vulnerable and in pain, not to be treated with contempt because of their race.nVGH needs to take this seriously before this kind of behaviour causes irreparable harm.

Huge shoutout to the ER team at Vancouver Hospital! Went in with pelvic pain and was blown away by the care I received. Doctors and nurses were not only super knowledgeable, but SO kind and explained everything calmly ‍. Even hooked me up with a family doctor contact! One nurse in particular took care of me like a mom - made a stressful experience way more bearable. Okay with the wait - knew it was based on priorities. Honestly, best hospital experience I've had in Canada . Thank you, Vancouver Hospital team!
