Dogwood Care Home

This is a new facility. Parking for staff and family. The private rooms and ensuite bathrooms are spacious. Social workers are friendly and knowledgeable. The residents seem very happy. Peaceful and relaxing place. I love it!

I just want to express my sincere gratitude to all staff at the Dogwood Lodge Hospis, doctors, nurses, caretakers and janitors. They have been really caring and compassionate for my mom during her last two-week's journey of her life. They also provide lots support to my families during the most difficult time.Couldn't speak enough to thank them enough!

Who's the head person for the lodge?? I would visit my uncle and bring him his snacks. The next cpl days they didn't answer their buzzer. Us thinking maybe they were just busy. We have to buzz to get into the place. We were trying to go and visit and bring more snacks. My family member called us and said that a lady there said that I was giving him pills, so we aren't allowed in. I asked why they would say something like that? They said because he seemed drowsy after we left. I think it's weird that they would just accuse us of something like that. I told my uncle I was gonna talk to someone above them because they can't go around making stuff up like that. Then he says we are allowed there but have to sit in the main area and not be allowed in his room anymore. So my uncle said he was gonna do something about it. They then said that they didn't say such a thing. They then answered the door after trying to go and buzz a few different times.. my uncle said that they were always late giving him his medicine. So he was in pain. He was always still hungry after he ate. A guy fr there managed to get out of their locked doors. He was lying on the sidewalk, trying to get up. My s.o thought it was an intoxicated person. So he told the workers. They said it couldn't be any of their ppl because everyone was in their rooms. But it was one of their guys. They had to go grab a wheel chair to wheel him back in. It's just a horrible place in general.

We are very grateful for the excellent and compassionate care provided to our family member for 8 years. The Dogwood Care Home is now in a beautiful bright new building with the same wonderful sraff,

Nursing home scheduled to close soon due to property being redeveloped into condos. Was a clean place providing great care.
