Definitely worth the higher price tag ! Good food and nice service. I know this is a steak house but I prefer white meat. The chicken breast was tender. Calamari was large in portion. Bread was warm with refill, I was there to celebrate earlier birthday, the ice cream caramel cake was delicious too. I highly recommend this place.
Was expecting too much from this place. Ordered rare and medium rare steak, and it came medium well almost well done. Meat was dry, and pale. No grill mark or good sear colour. It just feels like eating roasted beef and not STEAK. Server and ambience is pretty nice. But pretty dissapointed for the steak. It should be called roast beef house, not steak house.
Haven't been back to this location in about 8 years. The place was quite packed. We were seated quite quickly since we had a reservation. The menu hasn't changed that much over the years. The steaks and sides are still good, maybe a tad on the salty side, but still great. The tuna tartare was a little disappointing, there was too much sauce, and overwhelmed the freshness of the tuna. Our server was great, made sure we were good and checked in often. If I could choose, I wouldn't have preferred the cheesecake. It wasn't much better than the ones you can get from the supermarket.
The overall service of this branch was excellent! The food came really quick and the servers are very nice and friendly. The Fried Cauliflower is a game changer for the appetizer! We got lobster and steak and we would definitely come back for it! Overall 10/10
I went to this restaurant for a huge celebration and it was worth every second of the experience! I got the rib steak, calamari, and the billy miner cake. The service was extremely professional, helpful, and kind! Personally, the rib steak was a bit much, but it made for some killer steak and eggs the next morning! The thing that topped up the night was the billy miner cake. It was a light and refreshing, but fulfilled the sweet craving you get after a rich meal. Will definitely be coming back next year :
I’ve never had a bad experience at the Keg and this time was no different. Made reservation through open table for 3 of us. Promptly seated at our specified time. Our server that evening was very attentive, the complimentary bread with the 3 cheese butter was interesting. Otherwise service was good. Our steaks came out just as we ordered, medium rare and medium. Kids menu includes a drink and ice cream. We were never rushed and everything came out in a timely manner. They also gave us a free billy miner pie since we were celebrating a special occasion. Always happy to come here for great food
The ice cream cake is pretty good. Service is decent but on a Wednesday night, you would not assume the wait staff to be so busy that we never got a refill of water once throughout the night. Quality of food is good, not outstanding. The restaurant interior could be made out to look more modern, the looks have not changed in forever.
The Keg is still a great go to restaurant for celebrations, date night etc. Their steaks are very tasty, great side options. They have a wide variety of wines and cocktails. Wheelchair accessible. Very busy atmosphere Vegetarian options: I was very surprised at the vegan and vegetarian options. The vegan meatloaf was super delicious
I would not even give them one star if possible. Worst meal I have had in a long time. I had a good experience at the Keg in North York and wanted to try the one closer to our house. We ordered a few drinks, Oyster Rockefeller, Tuna Tartare, Steak & Shrimp and the Ling Cod. After my husband got the bill, I went to the washroom to throw up the Oyster Rockefeller. Flavours were masked by the cheese. The oysters were not fresh and full of shell shards. The tuna tartare was the saddest one I have had to date. It had NO SEASONING OR ACIDITY. so I pay $17 for the dish to season and add acidity by myself. Come on. The steak we ordered medium rare was overcooked to medium well. We were to hungry to send it back. The jus was so watery it felt like you were pouring heated up coke on top of the steak. Can you please thicken it up with a roux or something? I ate two bites of the Ling Cod and left it. It was just as sad as the cousin Tuna Tartare. The vegetables were overcooked and lifeless. The dish was made for cremation. The server did not quality check us on the mains. They did not ask if there was something wrong with it. The worst part is that on the bar, there were employee eating staff meal etc. The servers were only talking to their coworkers and it felt stupid. No service, the chef is a joke and it was just a nightmare. It like overpriced retirement home food. I'm not asking for free stuff like many 1star reviewers. I make my money, I will pay my dues. I have owned my own restaurants and I know it's not easy. But can you tell me what the heck you are doing at this restaurant?
Pretty good local the Keg with very friendly staffs. The happy hour menu is reasonably priced and the wings are delicious and roast beef sliders are good too. Free slice of cake for birthdays. Will definitely come back
