Mikaku Udon Bar

Found this recommendation on Tiktok and immediately fell in love with the food! We got their Takoyaki. First bite was very warm and tasted extremely fresh. Generous amount of octopus which you don’t normally see at restaurants lately! We then had their Chicken Curry Udon. Very rich in flavour and the chicken/cheese balls were an explosion of flavour! Yummy! The curry was very thick and filling. The dishes came with their coleslaw and pickles, which were an excellent side dish. A perfect combination of flavours and atmosphere! The location itself is very lovely and comfortable, and the music was not too loud so you are able to enjoy your meal and conversation! Staff was very kind and greeted us on the way out. Thank you for a fantastic dining experience!

Popped in to try the vegetable tempura at the end of the night. Excellent service even when they were very busy I'd recommend having a reservation. The vegetable tempura were excellent, nicely presented and a lot of effort was employed in their creation. The dipping sauce was tasty. In addition, I tried their fried chicken which was good too. Prices were reasonable. I'll visit again to try out their menu.

Food tastes great but is a bit heavy, sides are amazing, service is very friendly. Place is well decorated, very clean and seating is comfortable. Got the chicken curry, maze and spicy cream. I would recommend the chicken curry most, there is a delicious coconut cream curry base. The maze is good too, a but like Chinese scallion oil soy sauce noodles. Spicy cream udon is great but a bit heavy. Seafood is fresh but the cream base doesn’t have seafood flavour. It’s more of a delicious carbonara style sauce.

For appetizer to get things going got the Chicken Karage, Takoyaki, Fried Squid, and Wasabi Tacos and they were crunchy, flavorful, and fresh. For the main got the Chicken Curry Udon and it was very creamy, and flavorful. My taste buds also got a bit of cheesy after taste "similar to mac & cheese." One thing they have to expand the place because if you go with large crowd you'll have to eat fast as the place can get busy. We went with about 20 people and had to rush eating a bit!

Small dining space and potentially waiting list. I bought take out, I can say, I was amazed with our choices of Curry Chicken Udon and Maze Udon. The Curry chicken had added cheese and made it normal Japanese curry to a new level! Maze udon was also amazing! It's a small simple menu, prices might be a little steep but the flavour is profile will really surprise you. I definitely will come back when I need to treat myself and let my wallet slip a little. It's cute they have instructions on how to eat their udon dishes.

Got the spicy cream udon and geso karaage for 1 person. Good amount of seafood in the udon. Udon and the ingredients were very delicious, the geso karaage was alright. Really enjoyed the baguette addition but would have preferred if it was toasted. Overall would definitely recommend but portion size was less than expected, both items together were not super filling.

New udon place in Richmond hill! The restaurant is cute and cozy and I love the art/paintings! I decided to try the mala udon and was surprised how strong the mala flavour was and how spicy it was. I have a pretty high spice tolerance so It was perfectly spicy for me! My friend tried the spicy cream udon and it came with a variety of seafood. It also wasn’t too spicy but still had a nice kick to it. The udon noodles were cooked well and was nice and chewy. We also got a chicken karaage to share and it was pretty good. I did wish it was a bit crispier but the homemade sauce was honestly soo good! Follow @time2sikfan on IG for more content!

One of my favourite place for udon! So chewy, smooth and bouncy. My favourite dish would be the Spicy Cream udon the spicy cream sauce is so rich and savoury coating every string of noodle. I also recommend the Maze udon the sauce is so light and refreshing perfect for hot days, it also comes with a bowl of white rice so you can finish the sauce! The servers were also very nice and attentive.

Food: The taste was standard and acceptable, but I felt portions were lacking compared to the price. We had to order a third because we didn't feel full. Service: They were attentive, friendly and professional. There were only two servers, but they were clearly doing their best. Bravo to their team. Ambiance: They tried to decorate with Japanese pictures, but it is lacking. It wasn't the most beautiful or thoughtful interior. However, it was clean. Accessibility: It doesn't precisely accommodate you as you have to go through 2 doors, and the inside is a bit cramped.

The food here is amazing! The chicken curry udon tastes like you are eating a Japanese version of mac and cheese. It was very creamy, but not overwhelmingly so. The maze udon came with instructions and was a fun dish to mix together. It came with free refills on the side dishes. I also like how they gave us rice to soak up the remaining vinegar in the maze udon bowl. Lastly, the employees checked on us to make sure we were satisfied.
