First time eating here while attending a tournament and visiting with relatives in Kingston. Parking available on street and a nearby paid parking lot. Street parking is free after 5:30pm, but only $1.50/hr before that. Food was very good, especially the prime rib. I would also recommend the "Carvery For One," if you are hungry like a bear. Sarah provided great service and the ambience upstairs by the fire was perfect. I would definitely eat here again, and maybe stay longer to play pool by the upstairs bar after dinner.
Very very good, cool atmosphere our server was great. I had the chicken Parmesan it was cooked perfectly the spaghetti was even good, my wife had the gnocchi she loved it, my daughter had the steak and fries perfectly cooked and fries were so good too, will definitely be going back.
Cannot go wrong with the prime rib! Wife had the Canadian pasta and we shared the Grizzly salad. A very good night out for our anniversary with a table beside the fireplace.
Great meal, as the hostess mentioned, service was going to be alittle slow due to the kitchen staff being overwhelmed, we didn't mind. The food was good and fresh.
The waitress was excellent and the food brought in good time. We were celebrating a birthday and since they didn't have cake said we could bring one in, which we did, and kept at the table. There is a $10 cake cutting fee but they didn't take the cake or cut it, we did, but there is still a $10 fee added to the bill. After spending $240 for our dinner I felt that extra $10 fee was unnecessary and inappropriate.
I regret that I didn’t take pictures; however, we enjoyed an excellent dining experience. From the starters to entrees, everything was outstanding. Great portions. Reliable service. The menu is creative and flavourful. My entire tribe was so glad wifey picked this spot.
I'd forgotten how great the Grizzly is! First off, we had the garlic bread and OMG was it good. Just drenched in garlic butter and parmesan. As a pizza guy, I almost always order pizza when it's on the menu, so went with the Olive & Artichoke Heart. Very good. There was 6 in our party and everyone was pleased with their meal from pasta, to chicken to steak. Service was a bit slow, but most people were doing valentines dinners so they were slammed. We told our waiter what time we needed to be done by to make a show at the Grand down the street, and he met the deadline, so all is good! Sorry, I forgot to take pics!
Worst staff of any restaurant in Kingston! I don’t write reviews often, but I felt not only clients but management needs to be aware of this. I was with a group of people and their preferred choice of drink was a rye and ginger. At least a dozen other people had ordered the drink and had the same issue. The drink was simply rye and no ginger, no carbonation and it made the drink taste awful. I let two servers know of the issue so they can change the jug before serving more of these drinks and I was immediately disregarded and ignored. They continued to sell the drink knowing there was an issue. I had to chase down the manager so the issue would be addressed and people would receive proper drinks. Wasnt looking for a refund but didn’t even get an offer to remake them, let alone an apology. After a conversation with another staff member it was admitted that none of the staff care about their jobs and man does that show. @ the owner of the Grizz - Each member of your staff should be fired starting with the power tripping manager Jamaal.
I think the food is overpriced for the quality. I ordered ribs with cornbread and seasonal vegetables. The ribs were very tough I literally had to tear them off the bone not falling off the bone at all, I got 1/4 slice of cornbread, and my seasonal veggies consisted of one half of corn that tasted old and dehydrated, and a third of the corn was too old to even eat the kernels were flat and old at the tip. It honestly looked like a sad plate of food, and got the impression management is trying to save money by charging more for less. Service was okay, but our water glasses remained empty longer than they were full.
Went with a large group with a meal pre-planned. The staff were fantastic, organized, and friendly. Between us we had the salmon and the prime rib. Both dishes were outstanding and generously portioned .Food: 5/5
