Solid Italian spot – authentic and straightforwardnnFungi AssolutinFresh mushroom salad with a generous portion.nnCalamari FrittinCrispy and delicious. They serve it traditional Italian-style: no sauce, just lemon. Don't ask for sauce—the chefs keep it pure! Same for the bread: extra virgin olive oil only, no balsamic vinaigrette.nnTonnarelli Alla NorcinanSubtle truffle taste nice and not overpowering, but it could have been hotter.nnTiramisunBest in the city! The cream tastes so fresh. Pairs perfectly with our decaf oat milk latte.nnGreat commitment to real Italian simplicity. Worth a visit in the Distillery District area…. and the overview of their industrial artisanal bakery is a bonus!
This is a restaurant/shopping experience in distillery district. The restaurant is unfortunately not handicap accessible for the restaurant portion unless you sit outside on the patio. The grocery level is handicap accessible. This restaurant is unique due to the seating being on a balcony above the kitchen level so you can watch your food being cooked! The server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the fish. Although it took a while to cook, it was delicious! I appreciated that the base menu comes with one filet and you have to option to add a second filet if you have a big appetite. The cocktail I ordered was refreshing. We also had free freshly baked bread with olive oil served to the table. Overall I would absolutely recommend and would like to come back to try out the little grocery store!
I've been to their bakery a few times, but for some reason, never noticed that they have a restaurant to the left and a second floor that has a much larger seating area that overlooks their bakery and the bakery's kitchen, which is a fun view from up top. I tried one of their vegetarian pastas, which was ok a bit too much tomato for me, but it arrived fairly quick!nnI was told that if I present the receipt for my lunch at the bakery, I'll receive a 10% discount doesn't apply to any items on sale.nnOne of the ladies at the bakery went through extra measures to confirm I can eat the Panna Cotta - I thoroughly appreciate it, especially since it turned out to be SO delicious! Can't wait to come back for more!
Everything was 5/5!nFood: you can really taste the freshness and quality in all the food. We ordered a burrata & prosciutto pizza, tagliatelle bolognese, garganelli geppetto and finished the meal off with a tiramisu and torta calda di cioccolato. They make all their breads and pizza fresh in house!nnService: Our service was very attentive, informative and fun to talk to! She knew exactly what was in each dish, was very present and knew when we needed her and provided us with suggestions and favourites. She took care of us from start to finish. Only thing I missed was her name! Manager: we sat upstairs between 6-8pm, petite brunette with a ponytail. She was amazing!nnAtmosphere: Loved that you could see the whole kitchen from the upstairs dining area. The upstairs dining was very cozy, there were seats for couples or large families.
We recently dined at [Restaurant Name] and came away very impressed. The food was outstanding — everything from the meatballs to the pasta and pizza was great and felt truly authentic. The flavours were well-balanced, the portions generous, and each dish clearly made with care.nnThe service was prompt and efficient. Our server was attentive, things came out quickly, and we never felt left waiting. It made the whole meal more enjoyable.nnOne of the more unique touches was the layout — especially the washroom, which was unlike anything we’ve seen before. Also impressive: they have a section where you can buy their pasta and goods to take home. That was a nice bonus.nnAll in all, I’d highly recommend this place. If you’re looking for delicious Italian-style fare with good service and some interesting design flourishes, this is definitely worth checking out.
