La Vecchia Restaurant Uptown

We went on Saturday. The place was busy, but even without reservation, they fit us in 20min. The service is incredible, and the waitress is very helpful and attentive. They seated us downstairs, a place very cozy with brick stones walls, which looks like a very old cellar.nAs our party was eight we ordered different things, I took pictures just from three dishes, but every single one was looking good.nThe only thing that we dislike was the chocolate cake, it was very dense, not so pleasant.

Super cozy vibe, and the Italian food is spot-on. Their pasta and pizzas are always delicious and packed with flavor. The staff are really friendly, making you feel right at home. It’s a great place to kick back, enjoy some tasty comfort food, and have a great time. Definitely a must-try if you’re in the mood for some yummy Italian!

We had a big lunch party. One waiter took our order and more than one major delivered it, it was a little messed up and they're a bit confused people were getting the wrong dish. The bill had to be adjusted because they charged the wrong amount. However the food was good.

Ordered the focaccia, squid, pizza, salad, mushroom pasta, and cheese cake. The squid was the highlight. Our server was very attentive. Looking forward to coming back and trying out more of their food

The restaurant decor seems ok and the service provided by our waiter is ok - not too enthusiast but not rude as well.nnWe ordered several dishes to share:n1. Beet salad - for $22, I think it should be better, nothing great or bad about this dish, it’s just ok.nn2. Special of the day - Halibut with lemon risotto. The Halibut fillet is decent size and nicely cooked and soft inside. The risotto has a nice lemon flavor.. but it cost $40. So it’s ok as well.nn3. Another special of the day - braised short ribs with Demi. The rib is cooked to very soft and easy to chew. The portion is not too big in my opinion and the sides are regular veggie placed on the side. Abit disappointed on the demi sauce as I was assuming it’s Demi Glace which suppose to have strong beef taste but the Demi sauce I have seems light in beef taste and feel starchy. And it seems the food was placed on a cold plate so the food touching the plate was getting abit cold already when arriving the table. I do like my food hot so wish they would have use a warm plate to start.nnOverall experience it’s average for the asking price in my opinion. It’s a good meal but not a superb one.nnOh, the decafe coffee was very good though, better than expected!
