Tan Da Ban

The best fried buns I have ever tried! My family and I have travelled 9 countries in Europe and North America during the last 30 days, the meal we had at Tan Da Ban was absolutely our favorite! If you travel to or live in Toronto, make sure you don’t miss this restaurant. We will definitely come and eat at this place again all the way from Sweden.

Buns are juicy, tasty and crunchy. Beef soup noodles and the dry noodles are super delicious.

It’s alright. Not my personal favourite place to get some Shengjian Bao, but it will satisfy my cravings enough. They are very juicy so that’s a plus, but the flavours are just not my preference.

The best Chinese dumpling I've had ever. I really mean it. Simply the best. The dumplings are like the ones people from other countries would enjoy too. The noodle was also good too. It is a vegetarian option with a bit of shrimp. The noodle and dumplings were one of the best combinations in Toronto. And the lady is soooo nice and sweet. I genuinely hope this restaurant thrives.

I always come here for the most delicious food and excellent service. I’m greeted with kindness in this mom and pop shop every time. Do prepare to wait a bit longer for the freshest buns, my goodness each bite is filled with juicy soup and the texture is brilliant. Definitely support this business with out a doubt. 10/10 non. Stop. Excellence.

Friendly place at Shops On Yonge. Waited about 20 min for these vegetarian bun things but they were worth it. Though they were sold out of most stuff when I went on a Sunday afternoon, it’s best to go earlier than later in the day.

I had the most amazing wonton soup here today. I look forward to the next visit to for a taste of Shanghai dumplings. Worth the 1hr drive from downtown.

I was surprised by the taste when I ordered it first time which is 2 days ago. However, today I make another order and this time I’m very disappointed. I ordered 12 fried buns and when I eat it I find the meat inside is pink and the juice has a very bad raw meat taste. The store is nearly closed at the time I made the order, so I guess maybe the staff want to get off work early so he didn’t cook the buns for enough time and makes the meat inside still raw. In order to make the meat able to eat I cook the buns for another 10 minutes. After cooking, the meat inside successfully becomes white which proves that the buns I received are raw and the pink meat is not due to it’s cured. This is very irresponsible, how could the staff make customers eat raw pork just because he want to get off work early. It’s unsafe to eat raw meat, it may contains bacteria and parasites which are extreme harmful to people. I already eat one raw bun and I’m going to see my family physician to get some deworm medication. I’m very disappointed and I will never order again from this store. Yes the juicy fried buns are delicious, but this place is not the only restaurant to get juicy fried buns. I will choose other places to make orders and I don’t recommend you to try juicy fried buns at this restaurant. Please check other places for your safety.

Fillings are tasty, juicy and fresh. I like the pork and shrimp buns better than pork ones. Too bad they do not carry as many flavors as they have on the menu.

I was born and raised in Shanghai and really enjoyed the fried buns here. It reminds me of the fried buns from Shanghai and is so much better than most fried buns restaurants in Ontario. The owner is very nice and sweet. She recommends telling them 20 minutes before arrival so no need to wait for the fried buns on site. Will come back!
